In a world of cheat meals, sweet treats and temptations, IPress has opened its doors in Mt Eden and is putting its best and healthiest foot forward. It’s where you need to be for everything clean, green and lean.
Found on the corner of Mt Eden and Essex Road, there’s no missing the IPress awesomeness. Inside, you’ll find a bright, hip fit-out with pressed juices, cabinet food and the sweet aroma of excellent coffee. All backed by plenty of greenery, this is one jungle you’ll want to get lost in. Upstairs you’ll find the restaurant space dedicated to serving the cleanest greenest and most tasty eats in town.
Having first discovered the amazingness of pressed juices on a trip to Japan, owners Annie and Cody found themselves inspired to open up their very own. Annie confesses it’s not always easy to keep things healthy while on the go and found tasty nutritious refuge in pressed juicing.
When it comes to juicing, IPress are in a league of their own. Made with “only the good stuff”, each bottle of legendary juice is cold pressed, made on site and 100% pure. With no added extras, you know you’re getting your money's worth. Featuring six staple flavours, including Bloody Beets, Sweet Greens, Super Greens, Purple Juice, Citrus No.1 and Sweet Citrus you are spoilt for choice.
Annie’s top pick would be the detoxifying ‘Purple Juice’, consisting of purple cabbage, apple, lemon and celery, it's a health kick you’ll actually enjoy.
Now, we know green juices have a bit of a traumatic reputation, but the team at IPress have absolutely nailed the cleansing combo in ‘Super Greens’. Starring kale, spinach, cucumber, green apple and lemon, it packs a tasty refreshing kick you’ll actually want to wake up to every morning.
Our top pick would have to be the ‘Bloody Beets” for the nail, hair and skin, this bad boy is packed full with beetroot, apple, carrot, lemon and a subtle ginger twang. Of course, you can’t beat the classic ‘Sweet Citrus’ with a whopping 15 oranges worth of juice in 300 ml, it’s the sweet treat that’s actually good for you—winning!
Originally intended to be a pressed juice bar, Annie and Cody expanded their dream into a full blown eatery. Along with chef Stefano Vino, the trio has crafted a too-good-to-be-true menu that focuses on keeping things healthy, happy and high-quality. You can’t go past the IPress potato gnocchi, fresh homemade pasta accompanied by grilled broccoli, Mahoe blue and hazelnut, it’s sure to be your foodgasmic new addiction.
You won’t be able to say no to the irresistible smoked salmon, atop fresh sourdough and served with a dollop of lemon crème fraiche, sprinkled with radish and greens.
If you love cheese, you can’t go wrong when ordering the cheesy gift of the god's halloumi. Accompanied by eggplant mousse, marjoram, broccoli, baby carrot and olive crumb, topped with a poached egg, IPress have done the sacred halloumi proud.
If avocado is more your thing, they add their own spin on the classic smashed avo. Served alongside toasted sourdough, seasonal fresh greens, dukkah, poached egg and on fresh sourdough, it does us avo-obsessed Aucklanders proud.
One to watch, IPress will soon be opening up for dinner service with a fully-stocked bar. Something to look forward to, there you’ll find cold-pressed juice cocktails, fruit sodas and a menu worth raving about. So watch this space and we’ll keep you updated on all the latest foodie happenings.
