Parnell’s latest new opening will whisk you away to the streets of India without even leaving your dining table.
Welcome Merry Mumbai, a brand spanking new restaurant that’s set to transform the way we think about Indian cuisine. Brought to us by the chef Makarnd Karkhanis, he’s put his many years of experience to good use to bring us culinary classics like we’ve never seen them before.
“We’re following traditional recipes and classic tastes but serving them with a modern, original twist,” says Makarnd.
The jam-packed menu features so many masterpieces, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice. Not to worry though, we’ve broken things down for you.
Start your feast on the streets of Mumbai, with the dahi puri mini parcels of happiness with yoghurt, chutney, savoury all encased in a puffed crisp shell topped with dehydrated raspberry powder. But we warned, the only way to eat one of these little gems is one bite. And trust us, it’s worth it.
Or, opt for the smokin’ (literally) melting lamb kebabs. Served under a bed of smoke, just think soft tender lamb kebab, mint yoghurt, a touch of wasabi and a heavenly spiced balsamic reduction. YUM!
For the main affair, look no further than the coastal fish curry. Changing on the daily, we were treated to a flounder masterpiece that was almost too gorgeous to eat….almost.
But be sure to save some room for dessert! Indulge in the sweetness menu and give the rose zorbs Crème brûlée a try. Rich and exotic, this treasure features gulabjamun, a popular milk-based Indian sweet, surrounded by saffron cream with a caramelised top. Served with rose ice cream, you’ll be at wars with your s/o to get the last bite.
Serving Indian food like you’ve never seen it before, you’ll savour every bite at Merry Mumbai.
