Are you a chocolate fiend? Overly-devoted to dessert? Or do you harbour a sweet tooth that can’t be cured? Then we have the answer—straight out of a sugar-coated dream comes Miann’s second outpost in Britomart.

We’ve been following owner and head chef, Brian Campbell’s footsteps since the dessert-dedicated Milse opened a few years back. Under the Hip Group, Campbell conceptualised the offerings and helmed the kitchen before moving on to open his very own sweet shop on Fort Street. Now, with help of his lovely wife Roselle, their dream of owning a space entirely committed to chocolate has come to fruition.

Located looking over Takutai Square in the newly refurbished/currently under construction, Australis House, you’ll find Miann’s Chocolate Boutique which boasts towering brick walls, a handful of tables and stools, plenty of natural light and an almighty cabinet filled to the brim with colourful, awe-inspiring delights.

All handmade, you’ll have an incredibly difficult time choosing between their bright macarons, glossy gateau's, chocolate and candied covered gelato and other sweet creations. And all served on pretty pastel plates, this place is certainly gram-worthy.

The sweets don’t stop there. Oh, no. How about a whole menu highlighting the crème de la crème of chocolate, Valrhona. Roselle has a twinkle in her eye when explaining the hot chocolate menu.

“There are 12 types of Valrhona chocolate, we have eight,” she says before quickly adding she hopes to get her hands on all of the fine French chocolates. “Each type has different flavour profiles depending on where the cacao bean was grown.”

Her favourite is the Azelia—it’s grown in an area that’s rampant with hazelnut trees, therefore its prominent flavour profile is nutty. Their dark chocolate options are made from 70% cocao and flavoured with either chilli or black tea. Honestly, a hot chocolate is not a hot chocolate until you’ve sipped on one here.

Miann’s second shop is no doubt set to be a crowd pleaser. There’s takeaway boxes at the ready, or take a breather at a table. Either way, you’ll want to savour the taste of their luscious sweet treats—they’re hands down some of the best this city has to offer.
