Auckland’s hottest new pop up, Nitro Cow, is adding some serious cool factor to the world of gelato—a topic we take very, very seriously.
A gelateria and sorbet on wheels, this food truck churns out made-to-order creations using the molecular powers of liquid nitrogen. That's right, if you've been getting your scoops from the same old carton, you’ve been cheated. Have your very own Masterchef moment, as irresistible flavours such as salted caramel, peanut butter and jelly and s’mores, are flash-frozen into a holy tub of goodness right before your eyes. It’s truly something to behold and could just be the creamiest on the block. Already drawing in the crowds is Nitro Cow’s version of the Insta-famous dessert, ‘Dragon’s Breath’—liquid nitrogen gelato balls, which when eaten, dissolve into a breath of ‘smoke’.
With the weather as hot as hell, cool and creamy is just what the doctor ordered. This latest obsession is one we’ll be happily stalking in the coming weeks. Catch Nitro Cow most weekends at the Silo Park Markets as well as the upcoming Night Noodle Markets on from the 9th till the 12th of February.
