If you fancy a little gin, and by a little, we mean more than 400 variations of the botanical-rich spirit, then drop what you’re doing and head quick-smart down to Fort Lane.
You’ll find The Juniper Room down a curvy, cobbled lane that sits below the Imperial Building in the CBD. The stark brick wall is suddenly (and epically) contrasted once you step foot new pop-up, The Juniper Room. Every shade of pink has been called upon to dress this intimate, underground bar—it’s perfectly girly and stupidly Instagram-worthy!
There’s a total of six beautifully curated gin cocktails on offer, all, you guessed it, stained in beautiful pink hues. The Summer of ‘79 is composed of Beefeater London Dry Gin, tart grapefruit and Veuve Clicquot Rose. The Pretty in Pink is a perfect balance of sour, sweet and bitter thanks to the additional Aperol, watermelon and lemon. Of course, they serve the classics—think Negronis, Martinis and Sours. Of, if the ol’ wife’s tail sings true ‘Gin makes you cry’ you can happily steer clear of it thanks to the three fine rosee champagnes that grace the menu.
The hundreds of variations of gin are on rotation, so if you’re in the market to becoming well-versed in the juniper-flavoured alcohol, then we suggest making the most of The Juniper Room’s short life span and attending more than once.
And boys—if the pink-on-pink room along with the pink-on-pink cocktails are a little too much for you, make sure you sneak off next door to the attached (and sibling bar) The Jefferson, where they’re dishing up over 600 varieties of Whiskey (and other drops) in a more suitable man-cave-esque environment—we’ll cheers to that.
