Stolen Girlfriends Club
What went down:
All the cool kids rugged up and braced the wintery, rainy weather that Auckland brought us, to head to the Stolen Girlfriends Club show. It’s always the most anticipated show of the week, and we get why. The venue was in an old warehouse in Kingsland, set out over two floors, with casual New York vibes to it. Models stomped down the runway to the beat of their own drum, no fucks given.
Instead of showing the range for next winter, SGC showed the current season, so customers don’t have to wait an entire year to get their hands on the range. It can be difficult at times to picture how you will style said thigh high leather boots, and SGC certainly showed us how. Rocking micro leather shorts, flannel shirts, extra long belts (they’d be touching the floor on normal sized humans), daffodil prints and their next signature symbol, the smiley face.
What we wore:
Neuw Denim faux-leather pants, Mi Piaci Heels, Ingrid Starnes Blazer.
So this is where the fashion crowd flocks to, eh? Upstairs or downstairs—what’s the hierarchy system like? I don’t know which one is better. Oh wait, I spy Chloe Hill from Oyster Mag upstairs, this is definitely the spot. I actually want to try rock some thigh high leather boots now. The show is running later than the norm, I think it’s on purpose this time for everyone to mix and mingle. I just wanna get to the after party, work/party/work/party, when do people sleep? It’s fashion week ok, I get it, sleep is not on the schedule.
