Good news, ya’ll. Orleans—that finger lickin’ fried chicken waffle haven in Britomart—has recently blessed us with a new menu. While we’re firm believers in the ‘don’t mess with a good thing’ concept, Orleans have somehow managed to make their Southern grub a whole lot better, cementing their spot as one of the best restaurants in Britomart.
Wander down Roukai Lane and you’ll end up in this bar and restaurant, channelling the vibes of New Orleanian jazz dens, but with the comforting smell of soul food.
Orleans has been serving up a taste of Louisiana since 2013. The focus has always been on live music, liquor and sharing plates, however this Britomart restaurant's brand spanking new menu features some mighty fine additions.
Your next meal at Orleans should be centred around the Headliners. From whole jerk spice chicken and truffle mayo crab, to a whopping 2-pound T-bone or a mountain of ribs, Headliners are MASSIVE, both in flavour and size.
But before you tackle these dishes, hit up some Soulful Classics. Give into your fried chicken obsession and order the new crispy chicken wings, and for the love of all things delicious, do yourself a favour and give the fried green tomatoes a go, too. These bad boys come with a delicious remoulade and are a welcome side to an otherwise meat-focused meal.
If you’d rather launch into the cocktail menu than go full food coma, the Supporting Acts are a good place to start. Orleans’ potato salad and slaw are particularly tasty, and their curly fries make for the perfect Hurricane (complete with an umbrella) or Bons Temp Fizz companion.
But wait, there’s more! The Big Finale is something you’ll want to stick around for. Five new French Quarter desserts have been added to the menu—pecan pie, white chocolate cheesecake, Orleans Eton mess (better than the Brits!), coffee and bourbon pot de crème, and the standout, sugar powered beignets WITH a salted caramel milkshake. Holy Moly. Time to loosen the belts.
Like a bit of liquor with your shake? This Britomart restaurant let's you get your salted caramel pimped up with Stolen spiced rum. A few of these and you’ve got yourself a partay, Orleans style.
