Ponsonby restaurant SIDART has broken from tradition with chef Sid Sahrawat handing control of his degustation over to diners—unbelievable but true.

Wednesday and Thursday evenings now mean experiencing a new style of dining, where guests select from SIDART’s famous ever-changing menu to create a customised demi-degustation. Come with a group of friends to choose between five and nine courses (the entire table has the same dishes and number of courses) in a mouth-watering dining experience you won’t forget.

Head chef Sid explains: ‘It’s an opportunity to evolve and present a less formal cuisine adventure for foodies and those new to degustation alike. It is a slight departure from convention but we are keen to ensure people can improve their understanding and enjoyment of fine dining and all the wonderful taste sensations it can deliver and hopefully attract those who are let likely to want a full blown nine-course degustation.’
