New Year’s resolutions are pesky little things—persistent, guilt-inducing and near impossible to complete. Maybe our optimism is through the room but that ‘one glass a night’ memo has failed us four years and counting while the ‘practice yoga daily’ memo is practically non-existent. Fast forward to 2018 (yep, that’s literally days away) and we've finally got those mindful resolutions on lock down! This new year will have you bending over backwards—in all the right ways—because sunrise yoga is back! Remind us to make a note to actually attend this year, please.
Led by WE-AR Yoga and Panuku Development Auckland, this is the perfect environment to detox from your New Year’s antics. Situated right by the water’s edge at Queens Wharf, this summer series boasts a number of top International and Auckland based guest yoga instructors. This ticks all the boxes for us: increased mindfulness, fitness and vocabulary—who knew shavasana was another phrase for lying like a starfish.
Switch the BYO wine with a BYO yoga mat and walk, run or realistically Uber yourselves into the city. If early mornings ain’t your thing and you need a little more convincing, just imagine yourself post yoga, sipping a hot coffee and a freshly baked almond croissant from The Store. You know, new year, new you and all that jazz.
Commencing on the 17th of January for seven consecutive Wednesdays, we recommend arriving early to score a good spot. Closest to the coffee, right? P.S. it's free!
