The crew behind Double Dutch Fries have opened a pop up café on the North Shore!
If you still think that Double Dutch is something kids do with a jump rope, you are sorely missing out. Food truck Double Dutch Fries has been serving fresh, handcut chips and delicious sauces to the good people of Auckland for more than two years. After mastering the art of Holland’s finest streetfood and expanding his business to two trucks and a permanent store, owner Timothy van der Werff has decided he’s ready to try his hand at something new.
Enter the latest addition to the Double Dutch empire—a café! Located in the heart of Takapuna, the Double Dutch pop-up café is sitting pretty in the gorgeous Fortieth and Hurstmere Laneway. Tim and the team will be serving up traditional Dutch delicacies such as poffertjes, stroopwafels and broodje rookworst alongside superb brews from Coffee Supreme. If you don’t know what any of these tasty treats are, we suggest you educate yourself by popping in—you won’t be disappointed.
The Takapuna Double Dutch team will be taking a break from the fryers so you won’t find the chips that made them famous at this store, but try something new and expand your cultural horizons! Better get in quick though, they’re only there til July.
