The holidays are here! It's the perfect time to eat, drink and be merry. But most importantly, it's the perfect time to drink. In just a year our lucky city’s been home to a new rooftop gem, the pub to end all pubs, and even a tiki bar. Sounding good? Don’t fret if you haven’t had a chance to tick off these hotspots yet because there's still time! Here's our round-up of Auckland's best new bars of 2017.
With an incredible 14 beers on tap and cheat meals of epic proportions, The Chamberlain is the pub of punters dreams. Offering a fresh vibe to the Auckland scene, the space is a culmination of the best of Aussie, American and Old English-style pubs that feels like it’s been around for years. We can't get enough of the wicked deep-fried pies, bacon nuggets, and St. Louis pork ribs. It’s safe to say this bad boy is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Perhaps the most vibrant new opening of the year, Talulah has already become a beloved staple when it comes to Auckland’s nightlife. Found on the upper level of The Chamberlain, one step inside will have you whisked away in the pink fluorescent-lit wonderland. With a Pandanacolda in hand, sit back relax and let the good times roll. Taking us to new heights, new rooftop bar Seven has quickly become a go-to on a night out. With perhaps some of the best views in town, their cocktail line-up and service have been sighted as second to none. Bedford Soda & Liqour
The Shore got a whole lot more ballin’ this year with Bedford Soda & Liqour spreading the love even further setting up shop in Takapuna. No longer will the people of the Shore have to fork out for the bank-breaking cab fare to get a taste of the amazing, because the party has come to them! In addition to the unmistakeable gram-worthy cocktails, they’ve also brought along their drool-worthy eats menu, which yes, features the mouthwatering meatballs. If you haven’t already, round up the team and experience what it really means to be a true baller!
The harbourside escape we didn’t know we needed, Aura Seaside is a little slice of heaven in amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. Alongside a selection from the snack menu, curl up with the Turkish delight margarita, the perfect sweet treat to get your night started. Or, opt for the smurfilicious blue margarita because what other colour would you drink when seaside?
