Duck me! Cloudy Bay is bringing you a month of duck and pinot pairings from the finest restaurants across the country—as if you needed another excuse to try out Auckland’s fly foodie scene.
There’s 17 restaurants on the food and wine trail in Auckland and 31 days in May… so that’s more than one restaurant every two days. It’s doable right?
Here are the wine selections for your taste buds:
The Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir: The sharp flavours of rhubarb compliment the sweet notes of the cranberry with an interesting earthy finish from the mushrooms and a little spice from the white pepper.
The Te Wahi 2014 Pinot Noir: Dark plum, sour cherry and smoke all combine to make a well-balanced rich red with added interest from a bittersweet chocolate bite.
Inspired by these pinots, some of Auckland’s most renowned chefs have come up with their own signature duck-full dishes.
There’s confit duck, crispy duck, Peking duck, duck noodles, duck ragu, roast duck, pulled duck, braised duck, duck all the ways you could ever imagine.
So make the most of this ducktastic month and check out some mighty fine dining and wine.
