Cancel your plans for this weekend, Auckland. The Parnell Waiters' Race returns on Sunday, November 12 and there will be ALL of the eats and drinks to celebrate.
Kicking off from 11am in Parnell's Fraser Park, the city's top waiters will battle it out for the title of "best waiter in Auckland"—it doesn't get more prestigious than that. Watch on in glee as the waiters race down Parnell Road with trays brimming with food and drink. You'll be brave to front the sidelines—you might find yourself covered in egg yolk or wine!
The bustling park will also be transformed into a total foodie heaven as Auckland's finest food trucks roll in for the event. Devour your way through mouth-watering creations from the likes of Wise Boys Burgers, Double Dutch Fries, The Rolling Pin and Crepe Creations. Is it just us, or is your mouth drooling too?
And there's a lot at stake on the day. Not only will the winner be crowned the city's best waiter (total claim to fame), they'll also be sent to London to compete in the National Waiters' Race next year.
Contestant or spectator, there will be festivities for all to enjoy. Our advice? Round up your friends and make a fun-filled day of it! See you there.
