In Auckland, having fun isn’t just for the weekend. Luckily for all of us, there are more than a few reasons to get yourself out and about at the start of the week—and we’ve found five of them.
From parties, pop-ups and foodie events, you’ll forget you’re even missing the weekend.
Here are the best things to do in Auckland this week
The Glass Goose Christmas Pop-Up
If you haven’t hit up The Glass Goose and amongst their Christmas pop-up yet, now is the time. The rooftop bar gets in on all the festive fun with decorations, Christmas mimosas, Santa sangrias, gingerbread eggnog and snow coladas. Purchase a special Christmas cocktail and you'll receive a non-perishable item in return to add under the Christmas tree for the Auckland City Mission.
Grand Central 20th Birthday Party
Grand Central is the go-to spot on a Friday night when you just want a few drinks and a solid boogie session. They have been around for as long as we can remember, in fact, it’s their 20th birthday on Tuesday and they are definitely ones to celebrate. Grand Central is hosting a 1920’s themed party and everyone is invited, so Gatsby up your wardrobe and get ready for a big night.
It’s the last chance to experience the event brought by SKYCITY and Humm FM, Bollywood Nights. Enjoy an evening of the top Indian dance and music acts lined up at Sammy’s Lounge with live tunes provided by DJ Areeb. Don’t miss out on level three because Spice Alley is waiting for you to get a taste of their food. From Tikka Masala, Vindaloo to Pakora, Spice Alley has it all to give everyone an authentic and exciting night of Indian culture.
Last Waffle & Shake Wednesday For The Year
Everybody knows and loves Orleans for filling our stomachs without emptying our wallets. We don’t know where we’d be without the $12 waffle and shake Wednesday special and this Wednesday is their last one for 2018. To keep things festive, Orleans have kept the Christmas spirit alive with their special shake of the month. Introducing the Gingerbread Shake, a concoction of gingerbread ice-cream, ginger kisses, freshly whipped cream and a cherry on top.
95bFM Christmas Party’ 18
One of our favourite radio stations, 95bFM are throwing a Christmas party at K’Road’s Neck of the Woods and it is not to be missed. Free entry allows you to listen to some of our rising local musicians including Imugi and Peach Milk just to name a couple. Just because it isn’t Friday yet, doesn’t mean that’s a reason to not party. Start your weekend early at 95bFM’s Christmas Party and dance your weekday worries away.
