In Auckland, having fun isn’t just for the weekend. Luckily for all of us, there are more than a few reasons to get yourself out and about at the start of the week—and we’ve found five of them.
From a solid laughing session, to movie night, and dining out, you’ll forget you’re even missing the weekend.
Here are the best things to do in Auckland this week
Madame George X Tatsuya Shinkai Pop-Up
Usually closed on Mondays but Madame George is open on Labour Day for a super special event. The K’Road gem has collaborated with a chef at Pasture, Tatsuya Shinkai for a one-night-only pop-up restaurant from 6 pm. Pasture is recognized as one of the top restaurants for their seamless service and dishes that have been carefully crafted and calculated from the flavours, texture and even the pace of when they’re brought out. This pop-up is not to be missed so if you’re going away for the long weekend, make sure you’re back before 6 pm.
Calum Scott New Zealand Show
Stretch out the long weekend as far as it can go by going up on a Tuesday at the Powerstation in Mt. Eden. Britain’s Got Talent superstar Calum Scott is holding an Auckland exclusive show on Tuesday for just one night and we could not be more pumped. The British singer will be performing his smash hits and yes, this will include his rendition of Dancing On My Own. This is his first Auckland show ever so get in there and bless your ears to Calum Scott’s live vocals.
It’s the end of another month and we all know what that means, Pocket Bar & Kitchen are hosting their monthly comedy night, Pocket Laughs. This month’s line up of comedians is looking stronger than ever, consisting of Billy T. winner David Correos and Rhys Mathewson from The Project MC’ing the big night of laughs. For just $25 for a ticket, you’ll be in for a night that ensures a whole lot of stomach cramping lols and a 42 Below Vodka cocktail on the house.
Emerson’s Tap Takeover
Dunedin born and bred beer, Emerson’s is taking over the taps at the Mt. Albert gem, Albert’s Post. All 12 taps are pouring with Emerson’s brews for a limited time only and it all starts on Thursday. Be one of the first to get amongst this collaboration before the word gets out and the bar gets crowded. Make sure you order the Say Cheese pizza which consists of three different kinds of cheese, béchamel sauce and caramelised onions and you can thank us later.
Lads Who Lunch
Botswana Butchery is treating all the lads out there this Thursday for their very first Lads Who Lunch event. Based on what we know from their Ladies Who Lunch events, we can guarantee that this lad's exclusive series will be a goodie. For $65 per person, you get an alcoholic bevvy on arrival, a tasty two-course meal and even a table gift.
