5 Awesome Things To Do In Auckland This Week

Instead of aimlessly waiting for the much-needed weekend to approach, let’s make this week one to remember! Whether you want to treat yourself to the French dining experience, keen to test your music knowledge or simply want to attend a dance class, we’ve got you spoilt for choice.

Here’s our round-up of the best things to do in Auckland this week!

Voxnova Gypsy Jazz Concert

Located in one of the most intimate bars of Auckland, Caretaker is holding a concert with the gypsy jazz quartet, Voxnova. Caretaker only accommodates groups of six and less and provides classic cocktails using the freshest fruits and finest spirits. To make it even better, there is no entry fee attached to adding some music to your Monday! Sit down, grab a drink and soak in the ambience at Caretaker and start your jazzy week with class.

OK Now Ladies: The Future Is Female

September marks 125 years of women in New Zealand given the right to vote, so this event is a must. To all the ladies out there, get ready to dance your heart out at this women-only dance-off called The Future is Female. These weekly Tuesday classes aren’t only about learning some killer new moves but also about empowerment and feeling confident in your own skin. This week is 2000’s week which means you’ll be dancing to hits from Queen Bey, vocal legend Alicia Keys and holla back girl Gwen Stefani.

Judge Bao Pop-Up Restaurant

It’s the final week for Judge Bao’s pop-up store located on K’Road so if you haven’t had the chance to taste their food, now is the time to get amongst it. Judge Bao takes the steamed bun game seriously as their buns are hand-made and they are SO generous with the filling. Don’t forget to check the rest of their menu as this pop-up is offering more than just bao burger. From fried chicken to roast duck, this pop-up restaurant is seriously not to be missed.

Cassette Nine Music Quiz

This one is for the virtuosos of Auckland, test your music knowledge at the Music Quiz held at Cassette Nine. You can never go wrong with a quiz night with the squad and it gets even better when it’s a topic that you’re actually familiar with! There’s a musician within all of us and it’s time you channel that inner maestro. Questions will be based on the music of the now and also the old so you’ll find something you can answer in the hopes of winning the grand prize. Not to mention, Cassette Nine also churn out the tastiest tea-pot cocktails.

La Pêche Pop-Up

It seems as though this is the week of farewells to the pop-up restaurants around our city as it’s also La Pêche's final week! Offering a French dining experience of wining and dining, La Pêche is one of the most anticipated pop-ups to Auckland has seen in a wee while. Nick, the chef de partie from Auckland’s iconic Depot and his partner Emma are the masterminds behind the food. This couple spent many years in Paris and learnt the ins and outs of French cuisine so we know this will be an authentic experience.
