One of the best things about the colder months is definitely comfort eating (and drinking!) and this week, there’s plenty on offer here in Auckland. If you’re worried about the toll it’s all going to take on that summer body you worked so hard for, we’ve got you covered there too.
Here’s our round up of the best things to do in Auckland this week:
Rakugo & Ramen
Have a cultural evening at Ramen Do in Eden Terrace and take in some Rakugo while slurping your noods. Rakugo are traditional Japanese tales (they’ll be in English on the night) and Hiroshi, a talented storyteller will be sharing them in his unique and charismatic performance style.
Fried Chicken and Beer at the Beer Spot
New kids on the block Peachs Hot Chicken have quickly made a name for themselves as some of the best fried chicken in town. Their retro caravan will be parked at the Beer Spot slinging hot wings, chicken sandwiches and their iconic chicken and waffles. The spice levels are pretty ruthless so wash it down with one of the Beer Spot’s many craft beer offerings. You reckon you can handle the heat? Try the Holy Cluck if you dare.
Tiki Time at Talulah
If you’re more into cocktails than beer, no worries! The team at Talulah have got you covered. Talulah’s tropical interiors provide the perfect weeknight escape and to make things even better, they’ll be hosting Tiki Time from 4pm to 7pm. Come along for some Mai Tai’s and good times!
Winter Wellness At Lululemon Ponsonby
We all know that winter is the hardest time to stay active and motivated so the teams from Hey Girl and Be Peachy have teamed up to help get you up and about. They’re hosting the ultimate winter wellness evening at Lululemon in Ponsonby with healthy treats, goodie bags and a short and sweet workout. There’ll be some amazing guest speakers sharing their best tips for keeping motivated in the colder months and a portion of the proceeds from your event ticket will be donated to A Girl Called Hope. Dig out your activewear and pop along!
Cadbury Dairy Milk – Share the Taste Road Trip
Wouldn’t it be nice if the world was Cadbury? The Cadbury team is bringing Kiwis together to share a moment over a delicious treat by road tripping all over the country spreading love and chocolate. Head down to Aotea Square between 7am and 6pm with your friends, family or coworkers to share a taste of Cadbury Dairy Milk. Chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner, score! The Cadbury crew will be onsite personalizing bars for all your favourite people so you can pick up a sweet gift for them too.
