In case you missed the memo (or have been living under an ignorance-is-bliss rock), Christmas is just around the corner. We all know what that means: Santa, summer holidays and—the best part—the work Christmas party.

Don’t settle for a table at your local pub or the dingy staff room (god forbid). After a year of hustling with your colleagues, you deserve to celebrate in style. We’re talkin’ mouth-watering eats, flowing Champagne and the inevitable game of 'Secret Santa'.

Save your Googling and look no more. We’ve found the ultimate restaurant for your Christmas shindig that’s guaranteed to impress. Say hello to Parnell’s finest restaurant: Cibo. And guess what? You could be partying here for FREE! Yep, keep reading because we’ve got a Christmas meal for eight to give away.

Almost in their 25th year, Cibo has stood the test of time as one of Auckland’s best restaurants. The food? Divine. The setting? Divine. The service? Yep, also divine.

This year, they’re turning things up a notch over the festive season with functions for two to 180 people. Book the entire restaurant or celebrate alfresco in the lush courtyard. Enjoy the atmosphere of dining alongside other revellers in their pre-Christmas antics or ask Cibo to kindly create a private area for you and your work squad. Better yet, all Christmas group bookings will receive complimentary South Island Whitebait canapés on arrival—it is the time of giving after all.

As for the menu? You’re spoilt for choice with options for two, three, four courses or even a tailor-made menu. The beautifully presented entrées include the likes of sashimi, lamb tartare, venison tataki and chicken laksa. Our pick has got to be the beef rib showcasing kimchi and dumpling. Mm-mmm.

The mains are equally delightful with everything from salmon and hapuka to duck and rib-eye steak. Opt for sticky lamb ribs with aubergine or the unmissable Wagyu steak served with beef cheek croquette.

Dessert is where the magic happens with a jaffa chocolate fondant, pineapple coconut doughnuts and decadent fry-pan brownie served straight out of the oven. You’ll also discover Cibo’s Auckland-famous pavlova with three (yes, three!) to choose from.

The Christmas party vibes promise to be the perfect balance of upbeat fun yet classy and glam. If you time your visit with a Thursday, there’s a DJ dropping tunes in the evenings. Best Christmas 'do everrr.

So, run—don’t walk—and book your Christmas party here asap. And, if you’re feeling lucky, we’ve got a Christmas lunch for eight people to give away! Yep, you and your colleagues will be treated to an incredible two-course lunch and a bottle of Taittinger.
