This Waiheke Festival Is Where You Need To Be This Easter

By Marilynn McLachlan - 10 Apr 2017

It’s true—there’s nothing we love more here at The Urban List than a damn good festival, and our favourite island, Waiheke. Put the two together and we figure you’ve found nirvana.

One of the must-attend events of the year, the Waiheke Jazz Festival returns this weekend. Now running for more than 20 years, it will take you from Good Friday through until Easter Monday without any effort on your part—who says you need to leave The City of Sails for a good time?  Kicking off at midday on Friday at Rangihoua Estate in Rocky Bay, with the Good Friday Groove, the event branches into various venues around Waiheke to include the Daytime Jazz About, the Evening Concert Series, and the late-night Supper Club.

This year’s key performers include Australia’s jazz diva, Nichaud Fitzgibbon and eight-piece band, The Cactus Channel. But it’s not all about overseas talent! At the Waiheke Jazz Festival, you’ll see our very own Dave Dobbyn, Sal Valentine, and the Babyshakes among many others.

Make the most of your long weekend and head to the Waiheke Jazz Festival for good times and good vibes to see you through the long winter months.
