We’ve been waiting for this weekend to hurry up and get here already because there are so many awesome things to do in Auckland this weekend we are spoilt for choice.

Head along to go to this year’s Taste of Auckland, see Hozier in concert, have a laugh in Titirangi or shop yourself silly at Auckland’s most iconic market.

TASTE OF AUCKLAND | WESTERN SPRINGS

Ok foodies, it’s time to indulge because this weekend it’s all about you and your insatiable appetite. Taste of Auckland returns with incredible food experiences and dishes from your favourite Auckland restaurants­­—Depot, Miss Clawdy, Bracu, Miss Moonine's and Non Solo Pizza—how will you possibly choose what to eat? Have it all, we say! There will be craft beers, wines and for the first time a gourmet hangi. With music, demonstrations and a VIP lounge for those who need a break, it promises to be a fantastic weekend.

ITM 500 AUCKLAND | PUKEKOHE PARK RACEWAY

 We just nailed the Ozzies in rugby, and now NZ goes head to head with them again at the ITM 500 from Friday through Sunday. The V8 Supercars will hit the racetrack in adrenalin pumping races and you’ll get to see the likes of Scott McLaughlin, Fabian Coulthard, Shane van Gisbergen and Andre Heimgarter doing what they do best – race fast cars. There’s always a great atmosphere, so whether you want to be trackside on a blanket with mates or crave a more up-market experience, there’s something for everyone. Thursday 5th November

HOZIER | VECTOR ARENA

Since ‘Take Me To Church’ went viral, we just can’t get enough of Hozier. Performing for one night only, this Irish singer-songwriter will belt out his crooning vocals. Head along to Vector Arena to watch this relative newcomer because we’re sure it will be one of the best things to do in Auckland this month.

V8 SUPERCARS FAN DAY | AOTEA SQUARE

To help celebrate the return of V8 Supercars to Auckland, a convoy of classics will head up Queen St to Aotea Square, where drivers will be available for signings and selfies from midday for an hour or so. Petrol heads, try your hand at the recently released Forza Motorsport 6 Xbox game or test remote control cars. 

SKYCITY BREAKERS VS ADELAIDE 36ERS | NORTH SHORE EVENTS CENTRE

Get behind Auckland’s basketball team and head to the North Shore Events Centre to watch the SKYCITY Breakers go up against the Adelaide 36ers. Always a great night out, expect loads of energy, fast action and a whole lot of fun.

Friday 6th November

TWISTIN' THE SWING | THE GOLDEN DAWN

A mixture of world and gypsy swing music, Twistin’ the Swing hits The Golden Dawn at 9pm. The all-acoustic band will have you up and dancing with their tunes in no time.

BLACK GRACE - SIVA | AOTEA CENTRE

Performing over two nights, dance group Black Grace celebrates its 20th anniversary with Siva, which is Samoan for dance. Inspired by iconic works such Mioi, Surface and Vaka it re-imagines and re-contextualises our ever-changing world. If you’ve never seen Black Grace perform, book your tickets now—you’ll be blown away.

TITIRANGI COMEDY NIGHT | TITIRANGI RSA

Head down to the Titirangi RSA for a night of fun and laughter with an all-star line up including Jeremy Elwood, Michele A’Court and David Oakes.  Darren Jardine will host the evening. Expect all the lols.  

THE BIG BASH III | ASB STADIUM

If you tend towards something a little more feisty in your weekend, head to the ASB Stadium for a night of boxing.

AOTEAROHA RISING STARS | BRUCE MASON CENTRE

Get to know up-and-coming comedians in this fabulous night of hilarity, hosted by Urzila Carlson. With a great line up the next generation of New Zealand’s funniest, head along for laugh or two—it’s a great thing to do in Auckland this weekend.

Saturday 7th November

SHOPPING | VICTORIA PARK MARKETS

It’s finally here: the long anticipated return of Auckland’s original and iconic markets. Providing a platform for designers, artists, artisans and foodies to showcase their talent, it’s also about bringing the Auckland community together. Naw. 

GREAT AUCKLAND BARGAIN BOOK FAIR | ASB STADIUM

Bibliophiles…you know you can’t resist that smell of paper when flipping through a book… it’s like chatting with an old friend. Get your geek on at The Great Auckland Bargain Book Fair, an Auckland event that should be on any self-respecting Auckland book lovers’ calendar. Open on Saturday from 10am-2am and Sunday 6am-2pm there’s literally thousands of of books and magazines at bargain prices.

SPOOKS AND SPARKS | THE TRUSTS ARENA

This fun filled night merges Halloween with Guy Fawkes for its 10th year. Open from 4.30pm, Spooks and Sparks showcases death defying Motorcross riders and stunt planes and Warbirds will be performing. Opshop lead man Jason Kerrison will headline a variety of performers and dancers before a spectacular fireworks extravaganza.

Sunday 8th November

GET ROYAL | AOTEA SQUARE

At 3.55 it's all about royalty in Auckland with Prince Charles and his wife, The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla taking a stroll through Aotea Square. This is pretty much the only opportunity the public will get to see the royal couple, so make the most of it...if royals are your thing. 

WAIHEKE ISLAND GARDEN SAFARI | WAIHEKE ISLAND

Love to see what you coulda-woulda-shoulda done with your garden if you had the time and the talent? Returning for its 15th year The Waiheke Island Garden Safari allows access to 13 stunning gardens on one of the most beautiful spots in Auckland. Run over two days, it’s a great excuse to hop on a ferry, soak in the vista and recharge your energy.
