Rock it out with Chris Cornell, who has been crooning it since grunge was a thing, at the ASB Theatre for three nights. It’s your chance to hear this multi-Grammy award-winning singer play some of his old tunes, as well as new songs from his forthcoming studio album. Get your tickets here.

ITHACA | Q THEATRE

Brought to you by Q Theatre and cirque exponents The Dust Palace, cabaret fusion tells the epic tale of Homer’s Odyssey, from love duets to Gold-like flights to carnal hell on earth. It stars Mike Edward as Odysseus whose sole mission is to be reunited with the love of his life, Penelope, played by Eve Gordon. But there’s many barriers in his way—song of the Sirens, Cyclops and nubile nymphs—will he get what he wants? Book now. Runs until December 11th.

MISS CLAWDY'S THANKSGIVING | WYNYARD QUARTER

It’s Thanksgiving this week and Miss Clawdy is keen for a bit of thanking and giving. Until Friday, they are encouraging people to bring a can or two of food to donate to the Auckland City Mission. Do that and to say thanks, Miss Clawdy will give you a slice of a delicious chocolate pie! Noice work, Miss Clawdy! #givethankseatpie

THE COMEDY CLASSIC: PRO NIGHT | THE CLASSIC

There’s nothing quite like kicking off the weekend with some serious laughs and every Thursday it’s Pro Night at NZ’s home of live comedy, The Classic. Tonight’s MC is El Jaguar who will guide a stellar line up of Ben Hurly, Nick Rado, Jamie Bowen and Tarun Mohanbhai in a hilarious night of fun and laughter.

OUR:HOUSE FESTIVAL | MT SMART

One of the largest Auckland music festivals, Our:House kicks off the summer circuit with Diplo’s Major Lazer as the headline act. Supported by DJ SNAKE as well as Duke Dumont, Oliver Heldens and Galantis, there’s also a pretty lengthy and impressive line-up of local acts. With several stages, an enormous marquee and carnival rides…it will be a night to remember!

FEDERAL STREET FESTIVAL | FEDERAL STREET

There’s so much more to Federal Street than Auckland’s iconic Sky Tower and this year the famous Federal Street Festival returns. On Friday and Saturday, the street is transformed into a pedestrian-only party space for people to indulge in some tasters from the restaurants—MASU, Depot, The Fed and all your other faves. Mix your food with one of four pop up bars for the ultimate treat. There will also be some great live entertainment, including Tiki Taane, Sola Rosa, DJ Arii Jade with Boh Runga and DJ Karn Hall. Bring the sprogs, because on Saturday they can cupcake decorate and get their faces painted or test their skills against the Breakers, Mystics, Blues and Warriors players.

The popular Grey Lynn Festival is back with an awesome line up of stalls, stage acts and other entertainment. Eat, drink, shop and dance your Saturday away…

THE HIGH TEA PARTY | THE LANGHAM

There’s nothing quite like getting glammed up to indulge in dainty sandwiches, scones and tea and this weekend Australia’s High Tea Party hits the Langham. But it’s not all about food—there will be beauty treatments available too. Manicures, hand massages, a makeup bar and lash extensions…you’ll leave prettier than when you arrived. ONEHUNGA CHRISTMAS PARADE | ONEHUNGA MALL 

Head along to Onehunga for their annual Christmas parade! As well as the parade, there will be face painting, fairs and balloon art.

CELEBRITY BOXING | ABA STADIUM 

Watch celebs fight it out in the boxing ring for charity! Brought to you by MJT Events, this is a popular black tie evening with a great line up of social and popular media personalities—some of whom are lacing up for the first time. Get your tickets here

Sunday 29th November

FIRST OF THE SUMMER WINES | KUMEU

Take a wine and food adventure through Kumeu! Visiting four different wineries, there’s a dish specially paired with the wine at each destination. At the final stop there will be cheese by Kapiti as well as live music. Proceeds go the the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, so you can feel even better, knowing you’re doing a good thing, as you eat and drink through your Sunday. More here.

AUCKLAND SANTA PARADE | QUEEN ST

Ho, ho, ho! The Auckland Santa Parade is back for its 81st year and, as always, promises to be a fabulous day out. Bringing all the grins to kids and adults alike, this is a colourful parade representative of the cultural diversity of modern Auckland. There will be marching bands, character balloons and fabulous floats to entertain the family.

PONSONBY CENTRAL CHRISTMAS BASH | PONSONBY CENTRAL

It’s all about Christmas at Ponsonby Central this Sunday with a great line up of events from 11am. There will be food, drink, acrobats, music, face painters and fairies as well as two shows in the Sapphire Room. And…just who will be this year’s famous Santa?
