Although we should probably be making the most of our Saturdays and Sundays, sometimes it can be a struggle leaving the couch, let alone leaving the city. Yeah, road-trips and days spent exploring far away lands are great from time to time, but did you know you can have your very own urban adventure right here in good old Auckland City?
To truly celebrate your precious days off without straying too far, we bring you seven urban adventures to have this weekend!
Join In A Segway TourDevonport
Getting around on foot is so last year but instead of waiting around for some genius to invent the hoverboard (damn you Marty Mcfly!), why not jump on the revolutionary mode of transport that is the segway?! Magic Broomstick Segway Tours are giving people the chance to explore some of Devonport’s most spectacular landmarks. If you think you’ve seen it all, think again. Zoom past people on foot as you segway to the top of Mt Victoria and take in the views of our beloved city. For a laugh a minute and unforgettable day, look no further.
Hire RollerbladesMission Bay
Many who visit Mission Bay tend to get their feet wet one way or another. Whether it’s a frolic in the sea, a kayak on the water or a paddle board attempt gone wrong, there’s no escaping the big blue. However, if you’re like us and would rather keep your tootsies dry, head over to Fergs Kayaks and strap on a pair of their hireable rollerblades! Roll around Mission Bay, skate past the waterfront and admire the sensational view as you maintain balance like the pro we know you are!
Take Part In A Ghost TourAuckland Central
Yeah, you may be pretty familiar with Auckland in the daytime, but have you ever learnt about the deep dark history that hides down the central streets along with its ghoulish friends? Join one of Auckland’s Ghost Tours and take a lantern-lit voyage of central Auckland. Learn about the murders, hangings and hauntings that have happened in the city, along with potential ghost sightings, weird happenings and paranormal activity. Not for the faint-hearted, this adventure will have you reaching for the nightlight afterwards!
