The who:

Wynn Hamlyn

What went down:

For his first solo show at NZFW, Wynn Hamlyn was just about a full house. While some may have seen his Fashion Week debut last year, for the Choose Wool group show, this was his first time going alone. We were totally into the 70’s vibes that the collection brought, with a colour palette of gold, maroon and cream. Our favourite pieces that caught our eye were denim flares, blue shirts, cashmere coats and ruffles.
The show was styled by budding stylist Danielle Clausen, who turned the 70’s influenced collection into a more modern look, with tops half tucked into bottoms, minimal accessories and button down shirts. If there’s one thing to add onto the wish list from this collection, it’s the ruffle pinstripe shirt!

What we wore:

Karen Walker shirt, Georgia Alice dress, Deadly Ponies handbag, Chuck Taylors.

Random thoughts:

Is that a bag made out of grandma’s old rugs? When did we start wearing rugs as clothes? Fashion is weird. Ooh 70s baby, I’m diggin’ those high rise denim flares. Why do models make everything look so damn good? Them sunnies are just screaming 90s—cool or not cool? We’re undecided.
