Wow, didn’t the week fly by! Welcome to you-time; 48-hours of pure, unadulterated weekend fun! From French food festivals, to dessert dinners, laneway pop-ups to Gin parties, Brisbane’s got so much on, the hardest part will be choosing what to do!

So get planning; here’s what’s on in Brisbane this weekend:

Thursday 7th July

Dessert Degustation | Darling & Co

Ever wanted to skip the mains and head straight for the desserts? As part of Good Food Month, Darling & Co are making our sweet dreams come true, by putting on a five course dessert degustation, exclusively created by famed dessert Chef Nicholas Waring. Enjoy a sweet feast incorporating seasonal fruit, dairy from Maleny Dairies and chocolate (duh) all matched with drinks. Yup, alcohol and dessert pairings are a very real thing.

Friday 8th July

Le Festival 2016 | South Bank Parklands

Brisbane French Festival is back once again this weekend at the South Bank Parklands. Giving us a taste of all things fantastically French, treat yourself at the markets to the endless delicacies that the French do best; croque monsieurs croissants and macarons galore! Sign yourself up to some masterclasses on French culture and cooking, shop around for that outfit that gives off all the ‘je ne sais quoi’ vibes, and indulge in some serious French culture (you, know, shopping and eating baguettes and what not). Friday’s opening night is full of live acts including New Caledonian reggae and Parisian jazz to get you swinging—French wine in hand, of course

Grape Grazing By Night | Brisbane Showgrounds

If Aussie grapes bring out the inner sommelier in you, then the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show is a must. Their doors are opening to the public for one night of premium wine-tasting and canapés while you rub shoulders with the best winemakers, connoisseurs and professionals in the business. With over 1,800 Australian wines available you can sip your way across the country through of its best wines. Cheers to that!

Saturday 9th July

Tanqueray G & Tea Garden Party | Darling & Co

Darling & Co know that the best kind of high tea is the alcoholic variety, and we respect that. Kicking off this weekend, gin lovers can sample three Tanqueray cocktails that are perfectly paired with high tea classics: melting moments, finger sandwiches and a whole host of other sweet delicacies. Better than that pot of Earl Grey? We think so!

Festival Of The Goat | New Globe Theatre

Yep, you heard us right, Brisbane is welcoming its first ever Festival of the Goat! With performances from goat-themed bands, goat inspired artworks, a slam poetry hour about goats, and of course, the star attractions themselves at the petting zoo, you’ll leave the New Globe Theatre trotting, with a whole new love for our goateed friends. Should you be excited? Yes, you bleating should be!

Queensland Film Festival Preview Screening | IMA

Grab a bite-sized version of the upcoming Queensland Film Festival this weekend before you hit up the real deal on July 15th. This free event will give you a taste of what’s to come with three short films at the Institute of Modern Art.

Laneway Sessions x Bakery Lane + Winn Lane | My Bakery Lane

My Bakery Lane have some furry friends joining them this weekend at their Laneway Sessions with an RSPCA Adopt-A-Dog Pop-Up! Adopt your new best friend, BYO pup or just give them some love while basking in their doggy glow (It’s a real thing). Winn Lane is joining the party as well with jazz music and pop-up stores from all of your favourite Winn Lane goodies.

Abbey Medieval Festival

Polish your finest armour, and sharpen your jousting stick, Brisbane’s going back to the dark ages with the 2016 Abbey Medieval Festival! From daily Grand Parades featuring 500 knights and warriors, historical battle re-enactments, jousting championships, archery, street performers—even medieval music and live bands—gather your fellow medieval enthusiasts for a weekend-long celebration of all things historical.

Sunday 10th July

Downey Park Food Trucks | Downey Park

It’s time for your monthly fix of food truck heaven ladies and gentlemen. Downey Park Food Trucks is on to cater for your Sunday catch-ups with your family, bestie, your four-legged friend, or that burger you’ve had your eye on from The Bone Lorry’s Instagram account…

Zest Festival 2016 |Broadwater Parklands

Head down to the Gold Coast Broadwater Parklands for a festival celebrating all that is good for you. Put your yoga pants on and head out for a free session in the park, challenge your fitness, enjoy the outdoor activities and the array of health food options for you to choose from.

IMA Benefit Auction

Get your virtual auction paddles out and get involved in the Institute of Modern Art’s Benefit Auction for the creation of new artworks and programs. Log on to Paddle 8 to browse the stunning pieces of work from the likes of Tyza Stewart, Gordon Hookey and Céline Condorelli. The auction ends on July 16th so have a look for your next fresh find.
