Thursday 10th November

Jewish International Film Festival

Film-lovers should tick the Jewish Film Festival off their bucket list this weekend in Brisbane with one of Australia’s biggest and best showcases of Jewish conema. Laugh, cry and be inspired by the characters and stories of the Jewish and Israeli films, new and old. Popcorn at the ready!

Friday 11th November

Women In Voice 2016

Be gobsmacked by the amazing singers brought together by Women In Voice 2016, a cabaret song show celebrating femininity and music. These five women have talent oozing out of their fingertips and are set to audiences for one week only so don’t miss out!

No.1 Neighbour

QAGOMA is giving our northern neighbour a bit of love with this brand new installment. They are currently showcasing stunning works from Papua New Guinea from the past 50 years with modern and traditional pieces from some of their best artists. Cruising through a gallery on a Friday afternoon is bliss, guys, check it out.

Saturday 12th November

Sunnybank $2 Food Trail

If you have never had the pleasure of taking in all the goodness of the Sunnybank food scene, then you a) should probably rethink labelling yourself a true foodie and b) should definitely check out the Sunnybank $2 Food Trail this weekend. This event has you covered with sweet and savoury tasters from Sunnybank’s best restaurants at the lovely low price of $2, so you can be a big spender with your gold coins or take it easy with a nice weekend lunch for under $10— it’s a total win-win.

Bulimba Festival 2016

Bulimba is delivering the goods this year for their annual festival with more food, drinks and entertainment than you can poke a stick at. The main attraction has got to be the absolutely ace musical line-up set to turn your Saturday into an easy 10. Groove to the likes of Northeast Party House, Asta and The Delta Riggs in the sunshine with your favourite people for just a wee little gold coin—it couldn’t get better!

The Vintage Gala

Take a step back in time and throw your glad rags on in support of families in Brisbane living and dealing with perinatal mental illness. The Vintage Gala is set to dazzle with dinner, drinks and live jazz music for a night to remember. Vintage-style cocktail dress is optional but who could resist a good Gatsby outfit?

Brisbane Thai Festival 2016

All things Thai are setting up shop in Roma Street Parkland this weekend and we are not complaining. The festival is bringing the best of Thailand for the day, including some kickass muay thai matches (participation not required) and delicious food and drink. If nothing sounds better to you than chilling in a Thai beer garden, chowing down on some pad thai with a view of the dancers after a cooking class, you won’t want to miss this one!

Farm-To-Plate Tour

Brisbane cafe darlings, Locavore and Merriweather Café will literally be taking you to the roots of their ingredients in this farm-to-plate tour with their producers, Not. Waste Farm. Take a short trip out of town to the farm and get down and dirty with Merriweather’s head chef Jarrod Huey and the Not. Waste farmers, Alice and Phil guiding you through a spot of gardening. After you work for your food at the working bee, you’ll be treated to a locavore meal prepared by Jarrod—don’t mind if we do!

Wonderland 2016

November is really heating upp with the Brisbane Powerhouse’s Wonderland kicking off. Comedy, music, dance, burlesque and circus will fill the Powerhouse with debauchery and a hell of a lot fun.
