Oh weekend, how we’ve missed you so… If this gorgeous weather has had you practising your TGIFs more often than usual like we have, then you are in for a treat! Brisbane is buzzing like a bee and this weekend is your chance to enjoy that sweet, sweet, honey.

Thursday 8th September

Brisbane Festival 2016

We’ll be honest here, guys, Brisbane Festival has been running for less than a week and we have thought of nothing else! We are all over that rooftop bar, the food, the epic theatre shows and the giant dance floor, the list is endless! It’s everything that Brisbane has to offer and more and nothing makes us more chuffed than a good Brisbane appreciation party. Vogue Fair

Pacific Fair is quickly becoming renowned for its fashion finesse and with the one and only Vogue taking over the centre this weekend, their rep’ is pretty much set in stone. For their first ever event in Queensland, Vogue Australia will be hosting fashion parades and pop-ups along with giveaways, retail offers and of course, champagne to quench your thirst after hours of shopping—it’s a hard life.

Friday 9th September

Prison Movie Night At Boggo Road Goal | Walk The Line

Did you know you could see movies at the Boggo Road Goal? Now you do. The old BRG are screening (how cute is this?) prison-themed movies in September. This Friday's screening is the always great Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, with Shawshank Redemption screening on Friday the 30th of September. If you're keen, you can even throw in a prison tour while you're at it.

Giggle Ball 2016

Playing with Lego while in cocktail attire is definitely what we would call letting your inner-child break free and that is exactly what the Giggle Ball is all about. For Camp Quality, this ball is set to have you drinking, dancing and giggling the night away in support of kids and families living with cancer. It’s a charity ball not to missed, with live music, canapes and oh yeah, A DESSERT BAR! Don your fanciest frock and get ready for a laugh, ladies and gentlemen.

Saturday 10th September

Qantas Wallabies vs South Africa 2016

Win or lose, a Saturday night at the rugby makes for a good time. Grab a couple drinks and a feed before the game at one of the many places near Suncorp Stadium—Darling & Co. anyone? Cheer on the Wallabies as they verse the Springboks and who knows, you might be their lucky charm.

Tango Taster

Looking for this weekend’s date night inspiration? Get your groove on with bae at Rio Rhythmics’ free tango class. It’s a taste of the suavest dance around where you can learn the basics before you sign up to become a pro with their 12 week starter course. You’ll be dancing with a rose in your mouth in no time!

Sunday 11th September

Scandinavian Festival 2016

Add another festival to your list for September because the Scandinavian Festival is back and not to be missed! It’s your one stop shop for all things Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Estonian because why have just one country, when you can have a whole region! Check out the huge range of stalls and entertainment, from handball and traditional folk singers, to the Lego kid’s area and a casual sword fight here and here #vikinglife. You can then move on to stuffing your face with as many Scandinavian delights that you can find. Start off with some Swedish hot dogs and a cold beer, then go for as many Danish pastries and Norwegian waffles you can get your hands on.

The Urban Bliss Sound Off Experience

Switch off the hustle and bustle of the city and find your zen in the name of charity! The Urban Bliss Sound Off Experience is a yoga session like no other, where each participant will practise their yoga moves while wearing a pair of wireless headphones playing the smooth beats of Silent Sounds. It’s like a silent disco for yoga. Om.

Beer InCider Experience

Get your beer paddles ready because our favourite brew fest is back! Celebrating local and independent brew masters, food and fine alternative music, the Beer InCider Experience is jam packed with good times. Expect to see beers and ciders from all your faves, including Newstead Brewing Co., 4 Pines and Batlow Cider Co. as well as a hoard of fab food joints to keep the hunger at bay. Perfect to go down with the tunes of Josh Pyke and Holy Holy. Sounds a like smashing old time to us.

Walk For Awareness

Take a walk with the Mental Awareness Foundation this October for their biggest fundraising event of the year! Walk For Awareness is an 8km walk around the fantastic scenery of the Brisbane River in support of those in the community who suffer from mental illness and to help fund programs pushing to make a difference. Now that’s a day well spent!
