Things to do in Brisbane

Holy mac and cheese, it’s almost the weekend! Time to shop, eat, socialise and relax to our hearts' content. Did we mention that there will be fireworks? Can’t. Contain. Excitement.

Here are all the cool things on this weekend in Brisbane.

Friday 23rd September

G&T’s As Far As The Eyes Can See

If you haven’t tried a Bulldog Gin G&T yet, now’s your chance! Head to Statler & Waldorf or The Shafston Hotel this weekend and make your G&T dreams come true. Statler & Waldorf will even have live music on Friday and Saturday from 8pm, plus will play host to a Bulldog Gin party as part of the Caxton Street Festival on Sunday 2 October.

When: September 23rd-25th
Where: Statler & Waldorf, Caxton St and The Shafston Hotel

'Salty' Exhibition

The warmer weather is coming in fast and what says summer to a Brisbanite more than a trip to the coast? The answer is nothing. Byron Bay is one of our favourites and we think Alana Potts is on the same page. ‘Salty’ is a photography and film tribute to her home town, shot entirely with analogue film and unedited to present Byron’s natural aesthetics. This exhibition is heavy on the summer vibes and will have you running home to pack your beach towels and swimsuits before you can say road trip.

When: September 23rd, 5pm-9pm (Runs until October 21st)
Where: This Must Be The Place, Fortitude Valley

Saturday 24th September

Sunsuper Riverfire

It’s baaaack! Brisbane’s biggest fireworks event is on again to wrap up Brisbane Festival for 2016 and holy crap are we excited. It’s going to be huge and with so many vantage points across the city, it’ll be a hard one to miss. Set up camp at Kangaroo Point and South Bank, enjoy a cocktail or three in one of the bars in the city (here's a handy guide to the best Riverfire spots we prepared earlier) or take a trip up to Mt Coot-tha for a birds eye view of the whole city; the possibilities are endless!

When: September 24th, 7pm
Where: South Bank
