By Siobhan Taylor - 02 Mar 2017

Things to do Brisbane, events Brisbane, what's on Brisbane

Okay, y'all know the drill. We've done the legwork, we've trawled the web, we've chatted to strangers, and here's the outcome: our pick of the best things going on around Brisbane this weekend! Champagnge and cheese on the river, cult flicks, charity balls, and more live music than you can poke a stick at. Hook in!

Thursday 2nd March

Point Break Screening

Point Break is a little bit awful, a tad addictive, and seriously nostalgia inducing, which is why we’re pretty excited to watch it on the big screen once again. If you need more convincing, just check out this sparkling review: "So how do you rate a stunningly made film whose plot buys so blithely into macho mysticism that it threatens to turn into an endless bummer? Looks 10, Brains 3." Can relate.

BrisStyle Twilight Market

I am no stranger to the trinkets and treasures of the BrisStyle Twilight Market. More than just market stalls and artisan goods, there are also plenty of local food vendors, live music, and a free craft workshop! They won’t be returning until June so make sure you swing by this week to pick up a few end-of-week treats. Hot tip: if you have any birthdays coming up, here is where to go to get the ultimate gift! Who doesn't love handmade goods?!

Sleeping Beauty

Easily one of the most underrated Disney flicks of all time, Sleeping Beauty will be gracing the screens of Event Cinemas Brisbane City as a part of the Disney Princess Film Festival (running until 12th March!). Remember that scene where the fairy godmothers are baking the cake and sewing the dress and can’t decide between pink and blue? AMAZING. Extra points if you dress up for the occasion.

Summer might have ended, but that doesn’t mean we’re ready to say goodbye to sunny afternoon activities, especially since this weekend Camp Hill Bowls Club has got something special in store for you. Suitcase Rummage

We’ve all been there. That moment when you see someone walking down the street in an outfit that is so goddamn fantastic and you just wish you could rummage through their wardrobe and steal their style. Luckily, Suitcase Rummage makes that (sort of) possible, with aisles of suitcases and picnic rugs overflowing with the sort of threads you can’t find anywhere else. It’s not uncommon to find perfect-condition items for a fraction of the price! Even
