Ah February; the forgotten month. Christmas and New Year have passed in a blur of good food, a lot of alcohol and some more food but that’s no reason to let the final weeks of summer pass you by slumped on the couch. Check out what’s happening this weekend in Brisbane or get planning for next weekend because these two weeks are packed with some pretty awesome events!

Thursday 18 February

Good Mourning Mrs Brown

Australia’s favourite British sitcom, Mrs. Brown’s Boys hits the stage at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre this weekend. Good Mourning Mrs. Brown, promises an evening of laughs and if their 2014 tour was anything to go by, you won’t be disappointed!

Friday 19 February

Taste of Asia @ BrisAsia Festival

Pick up something more exotic than an apple and sandwich this Friday lunchtime. As part of the BrisAsia Festival, Taste of Asia comes to Reddacliff Place, Queen Street Mall. Celebrity chefs, Emi and Marie, winners of The Hot Plate will be cooking up a storm and a variety of Asian food stalls will ensure your appetite is satisfied.

Oz Night Market

We never get sick of food or markets, in fact they are two of our favourite things. If you’re yet to check out the Oz Night Markets at Rocklea Showgrounds, make a trip this Friday night. Food, crafts and live entertainment covering over 100 stalls, will keep you well and truly satisfied.

With the boys from the Firefighter’s calendar out and about, collars and cuffs waiters ready to serve you and DJ’s playing the hottest tunes, you wont want to be anywhere else this Saturday!

Off the back of the success of Castaway events in WA, comes Castaway Brisbane, ready to rock the Bribie Island peninsula this Saturday. For a sun-soaked day dancing on the shore to some Aussie music heroes, head to Sandstone Point’s beach stage, or kick back on a deck chair with a cocktail in hand as the tunes play out over the bay. There’s only two weekends of summer left and this is a pretty perfect way to make the most of one of them.
