November, you’ve been great, but it is time to wrap it up. This weekend in Brisbane we are saying goodbye to the second last month of 2017, and we are doing it with style. This week has 13 killer events; whether you want to take in the glory and splendour of our local creators, sing against the patriarchy at the top of your lungs, or stuff your face with mountains of seafood, November is definitely going out with a bang.

The holiday season is also in full swing, bringing on the festive markets and pop-ups that we have all been waiting for. Here are the 13 ways you should be spending your last week of November.

All Weekend

Wonderland Festival 2017

Brisbane Powerhouse is hosting a saucy end of year extravaganza to celebrate 2017, and you’re invited! The Wonderland Festival will bring together a carnival of creators, showcasing their performance, burlesque, circus, music, comedic, and theatre skills for your entertainment. There will be 20 shows over the 12-night run so you have plenty of opportunities to marvel at the magic!

Thursday 23 November

PASTEL Magazine Launch

Prepare for the launch of Brisbane’s newest literary conquest, Pastel Magazine! Betty’s Espresso & Bar will be hosting this exclusive event where you can get your hands on Issue One of Brissy’s trendiest new publication. The mag will include the talent of 16 local creators, showcasing Brisbane’s best in poetry, fiction, photography and art. Flick through the pastel pink pages and stay up to date on Brisbane’s brightest new creators.

New Zealand star Lorde is hitting Brisbane this Thursday as part of her world tour. She will be performing her new album Melodrama as well as some of her top hits, such as Royals and Tennis Court, throughout the live show. The young artist has exploded into the music scene over the past few years with her unique sound, taking the industry by storm. You won’t want to miss out on this one night only performance where you can experience her impressive vocals and captivating stage presence right here in Brisbane.

Tis the season to be jolly, and with all the festivities comes a slew of Christmassy markets to spend your weekends prowling through. The Brisbane Etsy Made Local Market will be selling all means of homemade wares for you to stock up for the holiday season. Get a start on your Christmas shopping early while supporting local crafters this Christmas.

The Society Summer Series

Kicking off the holiday season is The Society Summer Series at Eagle Farm Racecourse. From this Friday until mid-December spend your weekends soaking up the balmy breeze at their rooftop bar. The sessions will include 2 hours of free-flowing drinks as well as plenty of nibbles and socializing. Make sure you book tickets soon, there are limited spots available!
