2 Minute Face With Lara Worthington

ICYMI, our favourite beach babe Lara Worthington is back on the scene and we are girl crushing more than ever. Solidifying herself as a full-time mum, entrepreneur and all-around #ladyboss, Lara has won us over yet again.

We chatted to the Aussie beauty about The Base: her line of awesome bronzing and tanning products, her beauty must-haves, and how life has changed since becoming a mum.

It’s a normal day, and you only have a few minutes to get ready. What does your morning facial routine consist of?

Cleansing with either Cetaphil or Weleda Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion, splashing my face a few times with cold water and moisturising with Actinica sunscreen.

When you have a bit more time on your hands, what do you add to the mix?

I love to apply a mask two or three times a week. At the moment I’m using the Priori coffee mask.

How do you take your look from day to night?

A red lip.

Can you tell us about The Base and why you started it?

I created The Base as a woman knowing what I wanted to use everyday. After being in my industry for over a decade and having hundreds of products applied to my face and body, I felt I had a strong platform to create a brand that was built on market demand and product satisfaction.

I’m all about simplicity, so I create uncomplicated, minimalistic products to enhance natural beauty, rather than cover it up.

What are your five must-have beauty products?

•    The Base LB Cream in Honey
•    KORA Organics Balancing Rose Mist
•    La Mer Lip Balm
•    A dry body brush
•    The Base Skin Illuminators—my secret weapon to achieving perfect contouring and highlighting of my face and décolletage. They’re so easy to use, everyone can achieve professional results.

Which products do you always carry in your handbag for touch-ups/face emergencies?

•    RMS Beauty Un-Cover Up Concealer
•    A compact mirror
•    La Mer Lip Balm
•    Jurlique Rose Hand Cream
•    Natural baby wipes

What beauty products do you splurge on?

My skincare is pretty uncomplicated, but I invest in facials and massages when I have the time.

And skimp on?

I love cold pressed coconut oil that you can buy from the supermarket. I like making my own revitalizing body scrub by adding a few tablespoons of sea salt to the coconut oil. Coconut oil also doubles as a gentle make up remover, all over body moisturizer and hair treatment.

What’s your go-to nail colour?

I’m more about well-manicured nails than colour.

And signature fragrance?

Since having Rocket I’ve stopped wearing fragrances.

Have you made any bad beauty decisions that you look back on and cringe?

Hair extensions!

Has your beauty routine changed since becoming a mum?

Totally, it’s almost non-existent these days! I use The Base LB Cream in Honey to even out my complexion and protect it from any environmental or sun damage, lip balm and that’s about it.

And finally, who are your beauty icons?

Beauty to me is more than skin deep, I’m inspired by women who are courageous and kind.
