The first weekend of February is set to be a goodie. Yep—it's already February. Where did the last four weeks go? Quit wasting your year away already and get out there! Brisbane's really turning it on this weekend with festivals, food tours, and more!

Here's what's on this weekend in Brisbane.

Thursday 2nd February 

BrisAsia Festival

The BrisAsia Festival is now in its third year, and we couldn't be more excited that it's back! Get set for food discovery tours, Tai Chi, music performances, art showcases, and of course, 2017 Chinese New Year Celebrations. Festivities will be running until February 19th, so if you can't make it this weekend don't stress—there's plenty more fun to be had!

MELT 2017

MELT is a fabulous annual celebration of all things queer art, and the LGBTI+ community as a whole. The Powerhouse will play host to the festival, which will include rock, illustration, dance, photography and more. You don't want to miss this one. Trust us.

Friday 3rd February 

As It Is

British pop-punk boys, As It Is, are hitting our eastern shores this February for a national tour of their latest album, okay.. so be sure to catch them at The Brightside!

Mosquito Coast

We're totally crushing in Brisbane's live music scene this month (check out our comprehensive gig guide, here!)Perth young guns, Mosquito Coast, are touring nationally with their recently released EP, Television Love, and with their ethereal vocals and beautiful lyrics you are guranteed an incredible show. Catch them at Blackbear Lodge this weekend.

Jurassic Park: The Musical 

Surprise! Your fave movie franchise is now a musical—yeess! Except this is a parody and about 100 times funnier than the OG classics. Expect sassy dinosaurs, lols, and some serious nostalgia.

Moonlight Cinema

Epilepsy Queensland Ball 

A night filled with entertainment, delicious food and fully stocked bar? Sounds amazing. If we add in that the night will be raising money for the Queensland Epilepsy Foundation we're guessing you're pretty much sold already—right?

Single Asian Female

Michelle Law's hilarious new comedy is opening at the La Boite Theatre later this month. The show centers around a Chinese restaurant and the hilarious antics of the women who work there, and are definitely talking about you in their native tongue. Check it out from February 11th.

Flickerfest is, at long last, back! 2017 will be their 12th year, so expect some pretty epic movies on offer at Palace Centro. Flicks like Adele and Fish With Legs will be lighting up the big screen alongside other up and coming shorts.
