Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. And it's not just because there's a good chance it will include bacon. There's just something about relaxing with a good coffee, the paper and some delicious food that makes breakfast special.

Sometimes, though, I feel like eggs for lunch. Or some pancakes at 2pm. Or some bacon, sausages, hash browns and mushrooms. And thick toast. For afternoon tea. I am not ashamed.

As it turns out, I am not alone. For ages it seems we've been pleading for our fave meal to be available all day long and, finally, the powers-that-be are starting to listen.

Here are my top picks for places that will happily serve you breakfast, no matter what time you walk through the door.

Paw Paw | Woolloongabba

It's the home of those corn fritters. Remember? This Woolloongabba newbie offers their seriously good breakfast menu all day long. Head here for a slightly unconventional, but utterly delicious, menu that goes way beyond scrambled eggs. So, so good.
Where: Cnr Potts St and Stanley St in Woolloongabba

The Little Larder | New Farm

Hidden away from the hustle of Brunswick St, this New Farm favourite does the all-day-brekky club proud. A simple menu, done well (the savoury mince is delicious!), with friendly service and great coffee. A winner.
Where: 76 Moray St in New Farm

Au Cirque | New Farm

A firm favourite since it opened, Cirque's popularity is evident when you try to get a table on a Sunday morning. Mayhem! A unique menu, combining breakfast classics with some more special offerings, this is well and truly worthy of the hype.
Where: 618 Brunswick St in New Farm

Espresso Boutique | Clayfield

For our Northside brekky fans, Espresso Boutique in Clayfield doesn't disappoint. Loved by locals, this humble little café pumps out quality breakfast options all day long (and the coffee's good too). The super friendly service and the cute fresh juice bar make this pint-sized gem even sweeter.
Where: Shop 6, 268 Junction Rd in Clayfield

Lady Marmalade | Stones Corner

Another addition to the growing 'Gabba food hub, Lady Marmalade is a must visit. There's something for everyone here – muesli lovers must try the chai-spiced muesli (seriously yum)  - and it is all top notch. I had the Gringo baked eggs with wagyu, chorizo, black beans and fetta and, boy, was it the right decision.
Where: Cnr Logan Rd and Cleveland St in Stones Corner
