If you’re anything like us, the main struggle of catching up with friends is deciding which coffee hotspot you should meet at. It’s all about convenient location, a great brew, nice atmosphere and maybe some tasty treats as an added bonus. So we’ve done our research and rounded up a few of the best cafes in Brisbane to meet up in this weekend. Let the gossip begin!

#1 Nowhere Espresso

Toowong

Tucked away in the back streets of Toowong is Nowhere Espresso; a tiny cafe with very cute signature red doors. Anyone living in the area knows Nowhere's the spot for amazingly smooth coffee, a small but delicious menu, and delectable freshly baked treats. Nowhere Espresso really lives up to its name, being tucked away in suburbia – literally in the middle of nowhere. But the small and intimate nature of this place means it is ideal for your next catch up with your best gal.

#2 Dandelion & Driftwood

Hendra

Dreaming of perfectly brewed coffees, stunning latte art, decadent high teas and the sweetest décor in town? Dandelion & Driftwood is a great place to rekindle friendships. We love their unique take on a red velvet hot choc—heaven! Each item on their menu is put together with a bucket load of thought and care; their corn and zucchini fritters are to die for! Plus, if you’re trying to organise a hang with your besties, D&D will throw together an Instagram-worthy high tea fit for a lady.

#3 Chapter IV

Paddington

Paddington is a well-known hotspot for food and coffee on just about any occasion, and Chapter IV doesn’t disappoint. From the outside, a humble cottage, but out back boasts one hell of a view and is the ideal place to enjoy coffee with a friend. Their drink menu dials up the cuteness, with amazing presentation of beverages like the virgin pina colada frappe. The all-day breakfast menu is full of variety—your only problem will be deciding what exactly to eat! Easy to find via public transport and car, this place could be your new regular for cutesy catch-ups.

#4 Sarmic Artisan Provisions & Cafe

Bulimba

You East-siders will make this your new catch up hot spot for all things coffee, breakfast and brunch. Decorated in industrial chic style, Sarmic Artisan Provisions & Cafe brings you all the best flavours like buttermilk hotcakes or the meaty and mighty double double wagyu bacon chilli cheeseburger. Diet sch-miet. And to further impress you, they make and sell their own range of jams and spreads to satisfy all of your sweet and savoury cravings. The salted caramel sauce or their eggplant and tomato kasundi are a must-have for your pantry. So meet up with your mate, fill up on all things Sarmic has to offer, and take home some jam for mum too.

#5 Lady Marmalade Cafe

Stones Corner

This old-school cafe gives off the best of vintage retro vibes so we know you and a friend will love to pull up at Lady Marmalade for some good food and good times. The old bank turned funky exposed-brick cafe is well known for a mean menu. Their Spanish eggs are a total favourite, and we love the sound of the grill dog; pulled pork, onion jam and some gooey cheese with nacho toppings. Yes! Open for all day breakfast and lunch, this has to be your next catch up location.
