If you’re like us and spend around 99% of your pay check on food, the wallet gets a little on the empty side sometimes—thus the hunt for Brisbane's best cheap eats. There’s nothing wrong with that; food is expensive and if we spend anymore of our hard earned funds on avo toast and lattes we'll end up with no roof over our heads (apparently).

So we’ve compiled this list of Brisbane’s best cheap eats to save your wallet, but really to keep your taste buds satisfied. Let’s do this!

  2. Deathproof's $12 frozen Aperol rose spritz (anything that's frozen we're considering a food group). 
  3. Prawn and Pork Wontons in chilli broth from Happy Boy, $10.
  4. The Bone Lorry’s Beef Rib Burger: BBQ-braised beef rib, melted Stilton, pink slaw, port-glazed onions, on a toasted brioche. $12 (specials change each week!).
  5. Burger Project's blueberry pie soft serve, $5.50.
  6. Naïm's felafel plate, coming in at $15.
  7. Suki's sushi burrito, $12.95.
  8. Scout Café’s Work and Wagyu mince meatballs on pane with smoked tomato, sugo, rocket, basil, and grated parmesan, $14.
  9. Junk Boat's chicken katsu bao, $12.
  10. Gerard’s Bar’s sobrasada dagwood dog, $5.
  11. Original Acai bowl from Kiss The Berry, $9.
  12. Pork Xiao Long Bao from Fat Dumpling, $8.

  19. Johnny's Pizzeria $8 margherita pizza every Wednesday. What a steal!
  20. The Empire State Hot Dog from Manhattan Line: Beef frank, caramelised onions, crispy bacon, house fries, Manhattan ketchup, yellow mustard, and cheddar cheese, $10.
  21. Zeus Street Greek nutella-drizzled loukoumades, $8.
  22. The Alliance Hotel’s soft-shell-crab tacos, with jalapeno and tomatillo, $18.90

  38. Brid's Nest Yakitori $12 lunch specials! Seriously, try the bincho grilled slow braised pork belly. Incredible.
  39. Harajuku Gyoza’s spicy miso ramen, $12.
  40. The Flying Pig Burger at Canvas: a pulled-pork burger, stuffed with slow-cooked braised pork shoulder, rustic slaw, fig and pepper paste, and fries, $15.
  41. The Morning Glory Bagel at My Mistress: smoked bacon, free-range egg, Swiss Cheese, tomato relish, aioli, $12.
  42. Spaghetti Aglio Olio at Pizzeria 1889, $15.50.
  43. Electric Avenue's pecan-salt and pepper pork crackling for $12.
  44. NYC Bagel Deli's Elvis 'The King' bagel; bacon, peanut butter, banana and cream cheese mash up, only $10.
  45. Hoo Ha Bar’s grilled chorizo burger, with a fried egg, Monterey Jack cheese, greens, and Sriracha mayo, $10
  46. Super Combo's 'Round 1' classic burger, $9.50.
  47. Pizzeria Violetta's $10 Monday and Tuesday margherita pizza special. It's a bit special.
  48. Peking Duck Pancakes at Sichuan Bang Bang, $10 every Monday
  49. Fritzenberger's $10 cheeseburger.
  50. A double scoop of anything at Gelato Messina for $8.
