There’s a time and place for clean eating, and then there’s the other 23.5 hours in the day. We’re counting down Brisbane’s best fried foods—from doughies to croquettes, deep-fried ice cream to pork crackling—these are the Brisbane restaurants we highly recommend you get your grease on at.

Don’t forget the Wet Wipes.

  1. Gerard’s Bar's pork belly sandwich with white anchovies and pork crackling.
  2. Moga’s crispy salmon roll, wrapped in salmon, fried in tempura batter, sliced open to reveal raw salmon and avocado with wasabi mayonnaise.
  3. Red Hook’s battered pickles. We’re fairly confident beer was invented to accompany this snack.
  4. Miss Kay’s Dirty Fries with Miss Kay’s seasoning, tomato chilli, shredded cheese and sour cream.
  5. Statler & Waldorf’s cider and fennel seed beer-battered fish, with smoked curry sauce and beer-battered chips.
  6. The Euro’s jamon croquettes. We die.
