6 Outdoor Dining Spots To Hit Up This Autumn

By Katie Stow

Welcome to autumn in Brisbane, guys! The freshly crisped-up weather is a pleasant relief, and it’s the perfect excuse to venture out of the air con and comfortably enjoy alfresco dining and riverside cocktails.

Obviously, the only way to make the most of the colder snap (okay, okay, that might be a slight exaggeration) is to seat yourself somewhere (anywhere) at the oh-so-iconic Eagle Street Pier. With over 15 restaurants and bars perched on the Insta-worthy Brisbane riverfront, no matter where you dine or drink, you won’t have a bad view.

That’s why you need to put these outdoor dining spots on your hit list, STAT.

George’s Paragon

Situated up high over Eagle St Pier, George’s Paragon Seafood Restaurant is the perfect place to kick off any party. Boasting an epic half-price lunch menu that you absolutely need to invest in, our top dish has got to be the Ship and Shore—AKA the eye fillet steak paired with a half lobster mornay, barbecued prawns and veggies. Pull up a seat and feel like you’re sitting right on the water.

II Centro

This multi-award-winning restaurant is total date night goals. With a super fancy alfresco area, enjoy Il Centro's tasty truffle arancini outside in the beautiful autumn breeze while sipping on an Aperol Sour for guaranteed good times.

Bavarian Bier Café

Bavarian Bier Café isn’t just your regular restaurant or bar, it’s a non-stop party as well. The kind of place where the good vibes are always rolling, as soon as you walk in you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a German beer hall, except for the fact that it’s got one of the best views in Brissie. What could be better? Views with a meal deal, that’s what. From Monday to Thursday, you and the crew can enjoy specials like All You Can Meat, Schnitzel Blitz, Sausage and Beer for just $20, and 2-for-1 cocktails. Sign. Us. Up.

Japanese eatery, Nagomi, has got to be one of our fave spots in town for casual Japanese eats. You’re doing Brisbane wrong if you haven’t tried their Izakaya-inspired menu of crazily well-priced (and delish) small plates, with Japanese beer AND cocktails. With a breezy, lantern-lit outdoor area and plenty of Japanese décor, everything about it is colourful, fresh and tasty, right down to their cute biodegradable sugarcane packaging. If you’re not convinced, did we mention they offer all-you-can eat deals on Thursdays? See you there.

Mr and Mrs G's Riverbar

You’ll feel like you’re part of the family at the stylish Mr & Mrs G’s Riverbar, which offers unrivalled and totally jaw-dropping views of the Story Bridge plus the twinkling lights of the Brisbane skyline. With a focus on tapas-style share plates (think grilled tiger prawns, sliders, and antipasto platters), and a gorgeous open balcony full of bright, modern furniture, this is the ultimate spot to settle in and work your way through the entire cocktail list.

Eagle Street Pier’s Alfresco Dining Area

Eagle Street Pier’s gorg new casual outdoor dining area was made for group dinner dates. Thanks to the recent installation of seating and tables (along with some lush greenery), all you have to do is show up, choose your fare from five bang-up casual eateries (like Grill’d and Guzman Y Gomez) then join up with your gang smack bang in the middle of the beautiful riverside atmosphere. Never have an argument again.
