By Rachel Lay - 11 Mar 2017

things to do brisbane

It’s FINALLY the weekend. You know what that means, right? Time to get your explore on and check out some of the best new spots in Brisbane. We’ve got Australia’s first gnoccheria, a great little Thai joint in the CBD, and a luxe day spa. Happy Friday, guys!

#1 Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers

Paddington

A whole café dedicated gnocchi? It exists. Brisbane food truck faithful, Gnocchi Brothers have answered all our prayers and boy, did us a real solid by not only opening up their first bricks and mortar store, but Australia’s first ever gnoccheria, right here in Brisbane. Holy crap! Bring on the carb coma, our body is ready.

#2 Holey Moley

Fortitude Valley

Holey Moley in Fortitude Valley is Brisbane's newest mini golf slash bar spot that's housed in an old church. We're pretty sure it doesn't get much cooler than that! In true mini golf style, each of Holey Moley's 18-holes has its own theme: Alice in Wonderland, Snoop Dogg and Nirvana are all rumoured to be incorporated... Interesting.

#3 Winner Winner

Paddington

We say Winner Winner, you say chicken dinner! Winner Winner bar in Paddington specialises in craft wines and beers for your drinking pleasure. What goes amazing with beer? Fried chicken of course, preferably in a Nashville style which they'll be serving up fresh and hot. Drool!

#4 Phat Elephant

Fortitude Valley

Fresh on the Brisbane food scene is Phat Elephant in Brisbane's CBD. A Thai eatery and bar, Phat Elephant is fast becoming the go-to post-work hang for authentic Thai street food and eclectic cocktails. Open 7 days a week until late, you can get your pad thai fix any time, any day!

#5 Super Combo

Bowen Hills

From the same crew that brought us NSHRY in Melbourne (their award-winnig food is the talk of the town), Super Combo isn't your ordinary burger joint—heck no—it's a Street Fighter themed burger joint (yes, the iconic arcade game—what else?). As if you weren't going to check it out already, Super Combo will be serving up $3 burgers all weekend! GET. THERE.

#6 Miss Kay’s

Brisbane

Northside, you lucky bastards. Miss Kay’s have picked you to open up their newest store! Calling Mitchelton home, the new location features all of the deliciousness you know and love from their CBD store, minus the trip to the CBD. Plus, some delightful new additions including a brand spankin’ new breakfast menu and a beer garden!
