Welcome to April, guys! Yep, we have officially hit the quarter-way mark of 2018. When did that happen?

Focusing on food, fashion, and festivals, this weekend has an epic line-up of stellar events. Case in point: we're getting a garlic bread festival (yep, you read that right). Without further ado, here are the top events you need to attend this weekend.

All Weekend

Garlic Bread Festival

Welcome To Bowen Hills have been bringing the goods ever since they opened, and this weekend is no exception. A range of food trucks will be pulling up this Saturday and Sunday to serve you one thing and one thing only – garlic bread. We are talking cheesy, loaded garlicky goodness everywhere you turn. Bring a date and don’t forget the Altoids.

The Inflatable Factory

We have three words for you: Inflatable Theme Park. Take a trip out to the sticks for Australia’s biggest inflatable theme park, The Inflatable Factory. It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like—every type of jumping castle and inflatable slide you could imagine. Who said bouncy castles were just for kids?

Friday 6 April

This intense dance piece is a double dose of traditional Fijian culture. The Veiqua was a symbolic process bestowed on Fijian women during their coming of age, celebrating their change through traditional tattooing. Expect some amazing choreography as the crew explore traditional female rites of passage.

Watercress Creek Olive Festival

Olives are everything. While we’re not an Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging level of obsession, we’re still 100% game to attend the Watercress Creek Olive Festival in Ipswich. So, yeah—we’re big fans. Your dreams will come true on April 8 with the chance to wander through an olive grove and lime orchard, sample a range of olive-based delicacies (and even fine wine and cheese), meet local producers and even talk to local artists and experience a woodturning demonstration. Chill out on the lawn to the sound of live music with a beaut spread of locally crafted goodness, all with thanks to the godsend that is the olive. Hello, heaven…is that you?!
