The Noosa Edit

It's no secret that here at The Urban List we love to drink, dine, and shop. A lot. And while Brisbane has a plethora of places to satisfy our consumer whim, sometimes it's necessary to spread our wings a bit. And there's no better way to celebrate a few of our favourite things than when on holiday… in Noosa.

We may have farewelled the final weekend of summer, but Noosa has a whole lot more in store than its glorious beaches. With a bevy of luxurious accommodation, waterfront restaurants and designer boutiques, it's a pretty top-notch destination.

Keen for a little Noosa sojourn? Don't stress, Urban Listers—we've done all the hard work for you. Yes, we slogged our way through Noosa; trekking up and down Hastings Street and along the river to Noosaville to bring you our edit. Tough gig, right?

Stay in the heart of Hastings Street at Hotel Laguna. Perched right on the riverfront, the lazy bones among you (us) will love being in walking distance to some of the best restaurants and boutiques. If you're after a more scenic escape, book a room at Noosa Crest. Overlooking Noosa Heads, Laguna Bay, and Noosa River, revel in the ridiculously stunning views. And for those who couldn't ditch the kids, Culgoa Point Resort is the perfect possie. With your backyard the river and beachfront, there will be endless hours of entertainment for the little ones (and plenty of relaxation time for you).

You're at the beach, so why not bask in the beauty of the ocean? Start the day with breakfast at one of Noosa's institutions—Season or Berardo's on the beach. With a strong focus on locally grown produce, these beachfront spots are the perfect way to indulge in some fresh, seasonal brekky fare. Next stop is lunch in Noosaville at the Thomas Corner Eatery. This river café has it all. Think citrus-cured scallops, slow-roasted duck, and grilled sardines. And, if you're not already at your limit, book an oceanview table at Sails for an early dinner and a cheeky wine (or three).

Go straight from beach to bar, and sip on a few cold ones at the Noosa Heads Surf Club. Feeling a bit peckish too? There's nothing better than a bowl of chips and aioli. For something a little more fancy, get gussied up for a cocktail or two at Bistro C. Their signature b-c is a must: passionfruit vodka, lychee liqueur, raspberry, lime, elderflower syrup, apple juice and soda. Yes, please.

Whether you're after gourmet provisions for that delicious cheese platter you're planning to indulge in as the sun goes down, a seriously slick new surfboard to ride the waves, or a gift for a friend to let them know what a glorious holiday you've had, Noosa's got you covered. Now, back to the cheese platter, we recommend stopping by Belmondos Fresh Food Market in Noosaville for all your fresh produce needs—the deli is a charcuterie lovers dream. Ladies, are you keen to indulge in a spot of retail therapy? Make your way to Jive Art on Hastings Street for designer jewels and one-off art pieces, or Coco and Bliss in Noosaville for beautiful homewares. While you're busy spending, preoccupy your other half at Noosa Longboards. Or, for a real crowd pleaser, we recommend stopping by River Read. Serving up a strong coffee brew, peruse their great selection of new and secondhand books.
