Another week, ANOTHER new opening on the horizon in Brisbane. When will we have time to actually check out all this incredible newness that’s hitting our town?
Because wine, and because we love a good foodie news story (it’s what we live for at TUL HQ), Brisbane’s bar scene just got seriously grown up and classy on us with the announcement that La Lune Wine Co—a gorgeous new wine bar—is set to open next month!
Part of a wave of new blood popping up all over South Bank (seriously, have you checked it out lately?), owner Paul McGivern—the man that brought us The Wolfe in East Brisbane—has set his sights across the river, bringing his knowledge and passion for plonk to La Lune Wine Co.
So, what can we expect? For starters, this won’t be a stark, modern space: warm, inviting, and ever-so-slightly lived in is the plan for décor, and will feature an open plan dining space where diners can interact with the kitchen staff and sommeliers.
The menu will champion dishes that are less flashy (gimmicky flamboyance is not La Lune’s vibe) and will showcase four components: Raw, Charcuterie, Cheese and a small selection of larger dishes—perfect for pairing with their impeccable wine list.
To sum up La Lune Wine Co, if you’ve a penchant for incredible wines and are after a classy local bar with personality, this is for you.
Doors are set to open mid-March in the stunning Melbourne Residences at 109 Melbourne St. We’ll update you with their launch date soon!
