Our arteries are already trembling...
The guys at Portside Wharf are celebrating World Chocolate Day (7 July) with Brisbane’s only chocolate festival. The immortal ChocFest.
You can probably already sense where this is going. ChocFest is an excuse to pretty much eat yourself sick. There’s going to be chocolate nachos and chocolate churros from Burrito Bar, a choc-honeycomb shake from Hello Harry, chocolate Lebanese sambousek from Byblos, triple choc brownies from Cruisers Alfresco. The list goes on and on.
The guys at Byblos are even serving up two chocolate cocktails on the day, including a Milky Bar Martini with white chocolate, cream and booze.
It doesn’t stop at chocolate food either. There’s going to be live music on the Wharf, balloon workshops for the kids and a giant chocolate Cookie Tree (whose cookies are free, just quietly).
After all that choc, you might be feeling a bit queasy. Here’s what we recommend: pull up a chair and watch the 2pm screening of Chocolat at Dendy Cinemas Portside. There’s even a limited-edition choc brownie choc-top at the Candy Bar (okay, we really need to stop now).
More details will be getting announced closer to the date. But you get the idea: lots and lots of chocolate, lots and lots of regret.
Where: Portside Wharf, 39 Hercules St, Hamilton
