It’s that time of the year again; a time where a month-long binge of great food and great wine is totally acceptable. Hell, it’s encouraged! Brisbane’s iconic Good Food Month is back and bigger than ever this July—so you (and your waistline) better be ready.

Bringing the best of Australia’s culinary scene to our doorstep, Good Food Month showcases our most innovative chefs, global food trends and Australian produce. So post-pone the diet, guys, July is a write-off. Here are our picks of the best events this Good Food Month 2018.

Ocean Prime At Walter’s Steakhouse

Spoiler: this is not your standard surf n’ turf. This New York state of mind, lavish steakhouse will be combining their renowned dry-aged prime beef with the freshest Moreton Bay bugs. Treat yourself to a Saturday long lunch with a welcome cocktail and matched wines from Brand’s Laira Coonawarra range. Get your tickets, here

Pasta Party At Bucci

We love a good carb-loading feast, especially one that's after dark (no one will see the sauce stains on your top) and classy as hell. Enjoy a four-course dinner along the leafy, fairy-lit James Street strip. Each course will be introduced by the chefs and served with a matching glass of Brand’s Laira wine. Needless to say, you won’t need any convincing from your nonna to finish this meal. Get your tickets, here.

Night Noodle Markets

We’re staking the claim: this is Brisbane’s most coveted foodie event of the year. And it’s back. And we’re NOT DEALING. The famous Night Noodle Markets will take over South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt once again, bringing us over 20 sizzling Asian food stalls from some of Brisbane and Australia’s most iconic names in the biz. Night Noodle Market veterans Hoy Pinoy, Waffleland, N2 Gelato, Black Star Pastry and Donburi Station return, with Sambul Kampung, Bangkok Street Food and Bao Brothers also confirmed. To say we’re excited for this is an understatement. The best bit? Entry is free! Get all the details, here.

Beer It’s Beautiful At James Squire Night Terrace

As the official beer and cider partners of Good Food Month, James Squire will be delivering their bad-ass beers on tap for the duration of the Night Noodle Markets while sharing the tale of the convict-turned brewer (FYI, it’s a true story). Wash down your favourite Night Noodle dishes with their perfectly matched, finely crafted beers inside the James Squire Night Terrace—bottoms up! Get all the details, here

Brand’s Laira Pop-Up Cellar Door

Brand’s Laira beautiful pop-up cellar door is back for 2018 and gracing us with their celebrated wines at this year’s Night Noodle Markets. Hailing from the Coonawarra region (the wine world’s hidden ‘terra rossa’ gem), this South Australian winery is renowned for their Cab Sav. Pull up a stool and savour their multi award-winning wines alongside some fabulous Asian cuisine late into the evening. Sounds pretty perfect to us. Get all the details, here

Young Chefs Lunch At Aria Restaurant

Keep your taste buds on the pulse at the annual Young Chefs Lunch. Aria’s Ben Russell will mentor four of the brightest talents on the Brisbane dining scene to bring you a decadent four-course lunch. Hyosun Hwang from Aria, Brad Cooper from Gauge, Savannah Sexton from Stokehouse Q, and Georgina Phillips from e’cco Bistro have all made the cut for the next-gen dream team. Expect fine flavours and riverside vibes. This bad boy has sold out!
