There are few smells that induce salivation as quick as warm brownies fresh from the oven. From heart-shaped morsels to the forgotten sibling, the blondie, Brisbane sure knows it’s way around the humble brownie. So leave your acai bowl and green smoothie behind, it’s high time you treated yourself to one of Brisbane’s best brownies.

I Heart Brownies

Bakery Lane | Fortitude Valley

Yep, it’s true, we heart brownies and we especially heart brownies from I Heart Brownies in Bakery Lane. There’s just something about these cute heart-shaped babies that gets us every time. The fact they come in 14 different flavours–including peanut butter and salted caramel–AND are gluten-free, means these wonders can be loved by all. Win-win!

Cake & Bake

West End

With a motto that reads, ‘we only use butter,’ you can see why this south side gem made the list! The Cake & Bake, ‘West End’ Brownie is chewy and full of gooey chocolate flavour with swirls of tahini. That totally makes this a healthy snack right?!

Dello Mano

Teneriffe

Brisbane brownie royalty, Dello Mano, has a reputation that precedes them after Oprah Winfrey and Ashton Kutcher named them their favourite brownies. Yep, we believe that kind of speaks for itself. So if you’re in the mood for some chocolatey, buttery delicousness, a trip to Dello Mano should definitely be on the cards. With a whole store full of different flavours it can be easy to become overwhelmed, so we recommend the honey caramelized macadamia brownie. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.

Jocelyn’s Provisions

New Farm

We couldn’t talk brownies without mentioning Brisbane icon, Jocelyn’s Provisions. This New Farm favourite dishes up a divine chewy choc caramel brownie and don’t get me started on the triple choc brownie, my mouth is already watering! It’s at Jocelyn’s though, that the usually forgotten sibling of the brownie, the blondie, truly shines. With a rich, chewy texture and sweet chunks of white chocolate and macadamia nuts, you won’t be judging the lack of cocoa in these babies.

Noosa Chocolate Factory

CBD

Hand-crafted from the famous Noosa Chocolate Factory’s 77% Ecuador cacao dark chocolate, Amy’s brownies are as good as the chocolate they’re made from; simply delectable! For this pillowy dark chocolate brownie experience, you need to play your cards right as they are only available on Wednesday from 9am until sold out.

Flour & Chocolate

Morningside

With a name like Flour & Chocolate, there’s no way this Brisbane institution could produce anything but the finest brownies.  Their regular flavours include double fudge with white chips, flourless chocolate, and flourless salted caramel. But if chocolate brownies aren’t your thing (who are you crazy people?!) try the flourless raspberry and white chocolate blondie. With a special flavour of the month and $4 Brownie Friday’s, you’ll be visiting Morningside on the regular. Don’t worry, no judgment here.
