If you're trying to decide whether today is finally the day you order something sweet for breakfast over your usual smashed avo, then we're ready to talk all things pancakes. Those soft and fluffy frisbees topped with basically whatever your heart desires are a decadent brekky staple and it's high time you treated yourself to a serving!

We say shrug off the guilt of a sweet-filled breakfast, and get yourself down to one of Brisbane’s best cafes for the pancake breakfast of your sugar-fuelled dreams!

Here are our picks of Brisbane’s best pancakes for 2016. Here we go!

Elixir

Stafford

Bounty lovers rejoice! Your favourite coconutty chocolate bar comes in pancake form at Elixir Coffee HQ. Think house-made Nutella ganache, a heap of toasted coconut (of course), chocolate crumble and ice cream just to make sure you really treat yourself.

Little Clive

Annerley

Passionfruit curd, honeycomb and fairy floss make up the toppings for Little Clive’s buttermilk pancakes and we are not complaining. Have your sweet tooth ready for this one!

Rogue Bar + Bistro

Newstead

For the ultimate indulgence, Rogue Bar + Bistro’s pancakes are what it’s all about. With blueberry, salted caramel, chocolate ganache, popcorn and vanilla ice cream as the toppings, this is dessert for breakfast at its finest.

Sassafras Canteen

Paddington

Simple is sexy with the soft ricotta hotcakes at Sassafras Canteen in Paddington. Paired with house-made honeycomb butter and organic maple syrup it’s the kind of breakky you keep going back for.

Harveys Bar + Bistro

Fortitude Valley

An icon of the Brisbane breakfast scene, Harveys buttermilk pancakes with caramalised banana and honeycomb butter are heavenly. Pair with their spiked Louisiana sweet tea for the perfect Brisbane brekky.

Pearl Café

Woolloongabba

Though moving slightly away from a pancake, Pearl Café’s crepes are definately considered a part of the family. Pearl's crepes come accompanied by Pepe Saya’s mascarpone, thyme, mulberries and raspberries. A humble Brisbane breakfast, this is not.

Fuel & Co.

Fuel and Co.’s oven-baked hotcakes have to be done. This Brisbane breakfast godsend is filled with pear, raspberries and blueberries and then topped with ricotta and maple. Wow.

Seven South

Yeronga

Seven South's epic pancake offering is worth crossing the river for. Their lemon thyme, blueberry and ricotta hotcakes are a total bucket list eat in our eyes!

Locavore

Woolloongabba

The killer combo of strawberries and cream comes together on the hotcakes at Locavore. Local honey, fresh berries, whipped cream and nut crumble speaks to us on all kinds of levels.

Morning After

West End

How does a serving of Morning After's red velvet pancakes sound to you? Because it sounds off-the-charts fantastic to us! Tuck in to the prettiest pink coloured pancakes you ever did see, perfect for dilling up your 'gram feed!

Brisbane's full of great spots for pancakes, but all this feasting makes us thirsty! Check out our picks of Brisbane's best milkshakes!
