As the mercury drops, it's a lot easier to spend those few extra minutes under the blankets. If you've been hitting the snooze button instead of hitting the gym, we've done the 'run-around' to find some short runs that you can fit into a lunch hour.
Here are three tracks we love and will get your heart pounding:
1. Kangaroo Point to Queen Victoria Bridge: About 4kms one way this is a scenic run along the Brisbane river. There's plenty of drinking fountains and seats along the way if you're in need of a pit stop. The track continues along the river so if you're feeling ambitious it's easy to extend your run.
2. White Arrow Trail, Mt. Cootha: Want to escape the car fumes and spend some time with nature? Then the trails at Mt. Cootha are the perfect solution. The White Arrow Trail is surrounded by bushland and dirt rather than bitumen. The trail is close to the city so it's easily accessible, yet it will have you feeling like you have escaped to the countryside.
3. City Botanic Gardens, Goodwill Bridge to Southbank: A short run (under 3kms) this route not only has garden and river views, there's also a bridge to test your uphills running skills.
