A day with the Driving Divas

Last week, Moreton Island Adventures hosted The Urban List team for a day of sun, sand dunes and skids at the launch of Driving Divas.

Driving Divas was born from the observation that it's the girls who are most likely to be behind the wheel of the family beast during the day, but for some reason turn to water at the thought of taking the 4WD off-road. Pitched at hens weekends, corporate days or even when the girls are just in need of a good old fashioned bonding session, all that's required is the car and some nerves of steel.

Driving Divas will meet you at the MiCat terminal at the Port of Brisbane and will spend the day leading you around the stunning Moreton Island, stopping off for some wine and cheese at various points around the island, perhaps with a spot of whale watching thrown in.

If you're not in to bouncing around in a tin can all day, we hear Moreton Island Adventures will soon be launching boot camps (there may be a giant sand hill involved – you were warned…), or just bring a towel, a good book and a picnic basket for a day by the shipwrecks.

It seems crazy that Moreton Island is just over an hour away from Brisbane, and yet we all trek to the Sunshine or Gold Coasts for our vitamin D. Even in winter, this place is a little slice of fabulous, right on our doorstep.

Where: Moreton Island is open for Driving Divas tours twice a week (usually Tuesdays and Saturdays, depending on the king tide). For more information and to book your Driving Divas adventure, visit the Moreton Island Adventures website.
