The End of Lunch Time Monotony

By Sophia McMeekin - 13 Jun 2013

It happens to the best of us. Lunch time rolls around again and, instead of making the most of these few precious minutes of peace and freedom, you return unenthusiastically to the same old spot, and order the same old thing. Lunchtime monotony is a serious problem, and sometimes the only thing to be done to break out of this midday rut is to go somewhere different and try something new. What you need is a lunchtime dining destination that is refreshing, exciting, and stylish to re-energise your workday (and just think how this little outing is going to increase your post-lunch productivity).

Cove Bar & Dining, located in Brisbane's hottest new riverfront dining precinct, River Quay, is just a few minutes walk across the bridge from the CBD, but feels a world away from the city's hustle and bustle. While this champagne and oyster bar was already our go-to for a chic share plate and glass of bubbles of an evening (we recommend spoiling yourself with the oysters with Moët & Chandon gel and king salmon pearls), it's their new weekday lunchtime offering that really has us excited.

Because the charming folks at Cove understand winter lunchtimes can start to feel a tad drab, they're cordially inviting you in for lunch and are proposing a special offer just for the season, which may actually help you to generate some enthusiasm for your lunch hour. The Cove team want you to come on in and enjoy a little slice of lunchtime luxury. Sip on a glass of wine or draught beer and enjoy a main meal from their divine menu—think NY-style pulled-pork burgers with 'slaw, and soft fish tacos with salsa—while you appreciate their unmatched views of the sparkling Brisbane River. And, best of all, this spot of lunchtime frivolity is only going to set you back $25.

The next time our lunch hour needs some stimulation we'll be accepting Cove's sumptuous proposal.
