Up until now, there's been an unfortunate lack of bar-side barbequing happening around Brisbane town. Despite its associations with the backyard, barbequing is really so much easier when someone does all the fiddling around for you. We think, why wrestle with the gas bottle (and cleaning of the hot plates afterwards) when you can get the char-grill with none of the effort? Enter Euro Garden, the newest addition to The Euro, Urbane, and The Laneway bar trilogy, and the newest Brisbane inner-city laneway location to have a makeover.
Every Friday from 12:00 pm you can follow the scent of sizzling barbeque'd goodness down Spencer Lane (off Mary Street) and find yourself in a hidden urban oasis, with hanging herb garden, and a blazing barbeque grilling up some afternoon platters, as well as beers, ciders, and the Euro's extensive wine list on hand to get your Friday started.
In this industrial space cum hip outdoor eaterie, you'll find barbeque corn with chili and lime, sticky chicken wings, Bangalow pulled pork, and chicken skewers hot off the grill. We predict this space will go off on a Friday afternoon, so do some urban exploration, pop down Spencer Lane, and get your mitts on a cob.
