Lucky Egg's Fire Mouth Hot Wing Eating Competition At Brightside

If you think you’re game enough, then step up to the plate and attempt the Lucky Egg and The Brightside’s first ever hot wing eating comp, Fire Mouth! With the hottest wings and the hottest tunes, this is guaranteed to be a good evening (even if you aren’t keen to compete). Gold Coast Film Festival

What do the films Fools Gold, San Andreas, Thor: Ragnarok, and Unbroken all have in common? They were ALL filmed on our very own Gold Coast! More than just a holiday destination, the Gold Coast is one of Australia’s pre-eminent filmmaking locations, and for good reason. The jam-packed Gold Coast Film Festival program celebrates the incredible locations and crews that contribute to the multi-million dollar films coming out of the coast, and also includes various free seminars and workshops. Blokes Day Out

Gather all your mates, because this weekend is Blokes Day Out at Doomben Racecourse! A new initiative of the Brisbane Racing Club, this special event supports MANDATE—the PA Research Foundation’s men’s health initiative—and will donate $5 from every general admission ticket sold to the foundation. So you’re basically getting dressed up and drinking for health research. Score! The day will include entertainment such as a mechanical bull and surfboard ride, sporting stars like Lote Tugiri, Justin Hodges, Jharal Yow Yeh and Jack Reed, and of course, the races. Boy Band Karaoke

Whatever happened to all our favourite boy bands? Ain’t nothing but a heartache now they are all gone, but South Side Tea Room is throwing a larger than life evening of Boy Band Karaoke! Say bye bye bye to any embarrassment stepping on stage, and say hello to the ultimate singalong event. Tunes from Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Westlife, Human Nature, and the one and only One Direction will feature, so you’re guaranteed to know all the words to at least one song. Prince: When You Were Mine | One Year On

If you own any clothes that are lilac, raspberry, purple, violet, or lavender, now is the time to break them out because we are going to party like it’s 1999 at the Bistrotheque’s commemoratory celebration of the music icon that was Prince. The doves have cried; now it’s it time to celebrate. Prince: When You Were Mine | One Year On will feature all the biggest hits of the enigmatic star’s career, with everything from ‘Sign o’ the Times’ and ‘Purple Rain’ to ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World’ and ‘Little Red Corvette’. Get ready for a funky time remembering one of the greatest icons of the last century, and do what Prince would want you to do: go crazy!

The Late Breakfast Club

If you’ve ever needed a little hair of the dog on a Sunday morning, you, friends, are not alone. I think we’ve all over indulged (maybe just a bit) on a Saturday night and spent the next morning nursing a hangover and cursing the day we decided to drink an entire bottle of wine, but have no fear, for Lock n Load Bistro is here to help with their ultimate weekend hangover cure; The Late Breakfast Club!
