Mother’s Day Dining Round Up

We all love our Mums, but, if we're being honest, we can be quite slack when it comes to making her feel special on Mother's Day (is it just us, or does it seem to roll around really fast?). But this year things are going to be different, because we've got in early and sourced some very exclusive Mother's Day offerings that are sure to make your Mumsie feel appreciated (if only for this one measly Sunday). Whether you're after lunch or dinner, or just some bubbly (because you know she deserves it), we've got your Mother's Day plans sorted.

Brisbane's Public is open for mother's day

Public | Calling all cool Mums: Public are opening their doors especially for Mother's Day, and this hot CBD dining destination has a few tricks up their sleeve to keep Mum (and Mum's tum') happy. Their Mother's Day lunch menu features the best of Public's award-winning share-plate selections (if your Mum can pass up the Kentucky Fried Duck, we'll be very surprised), and there's also a complementary cocktail, mocktail, or glass of fizz for her on arrival. And, just because they're sweet like that, Mum also gets a special treat to take home. Bookings are essential so make sure you grab a spot early.

Brisbane's Bacchus serves High tea for Mother's Day

Bacchus | Your mum is pretty special, so why not treat her like a queen this Mother's Day, with the high tea offering from Bacchus. With a glass of pink champagne on arrival, a jazz pianist, and a special gift for Mum, she'll be feeling pretty spoilt before the tea's even poured. The high tea service includes scones and chantilly cream, French pastries (including chocolate éclairs… need I say more?) and delicate finger sandwiches. And, of course, the tea, which is the finest Harney & Sons, served on William Edwards fine bone china. And, best of all, $2 from every Bacchus Mother's Day High Tea will be donated to the National Breast Cancer foundation. There is limited seating available, so book ahead to avoid a disappointed Mumsie.

Brisbane's Claret House, open for Mother's Day

Claret House | We think it's a grand idea to take your dear old Mum out for a special Mother's Day lunch, and the lovely folks at Teneriffe's Claret House Wine Bar have had the same idea. Stop in to Claret House from midday on Mother's Day and enjoy their delectable Mother's Day Barbeque offering, with Mum's choice of Angus beef, lamb ribs, or Tasmanian salmon, all served with a beetroot, orange, feta & roquette salad. There is even a complimentary glass of wine for Mum on arrival, and you know she deserves it (after all, you are one of the reasons she drinks).

South Bank's Champ Kitchen + Bar is open for Mother's Day

Champ Kitchen + Bar | Treat her to a spot of indulgence at South Bank's Champ Kitchen + Bar—they've put on a dining special just for Mum where she can enjoy complimentary bubbly and two delicious courses for only $50. We highly recommend the spanner crab and avocado on toasted house brioche with truffle and cress, followed by the crispy skin chicken with tikka foam, yoghurt sorbet, and coriander naan. Better yet, why not make it a big night of fun for Mum and take in a show at QPAC, as well. And it couldn't be more convenient, because QPAC's Lyric Theatre is right next door. (If you're looking for a show Mum's going to love, our money is on the new production of Hot Shoe Shuffle.) After this delightful meal and show combo, you'll have one happy Mother on your hands.
