Yep, an all-out glorious dog festival is coming to town so write it in your diaries because it’s set to go off.
Taking over the basement of Newmarket Village, the NewBARKet Dog Festival will help raise awareness for the RSPCA and promises to be a veritable circus of fun, dog-centic activites where you can get involved with puppy yoga and pick up some tips with an obedience class.
There’ll also be a pooch parade for the little gruffers the strut their stuff, and no fewer than categories of winners including Most Obedient, Best Costume, and even a Dog And Owner Look-Alike category to slay in, so get your hair done. Please note there are maximum numbers for all events and activities (including the parade) so make sure you get in quick to avoid disappointment.
There’ll also be some pup-centric pop-up stalls spruiking all kinds of gear, as well as all kinds of opportunities to upskill as a dog owner including first aid for trauma and heat recovery, as well as a demonstration for teaching tricks.
John Muir’s camera will be out and snapping shots of your furry lil blessing for free, and don’t forget to pick up a special treat from the Bone Bar for the trip home.
This is a free, all-ages event and naturally, all dogs are welcome but please note they must be kept on the leash. Children may run free.
