Brisbane’s breakfasters have their work cut out for them.
Not only are there almost too many new places opening every week, but the list of already established cafes serving up Brisbane’s best breakfasts is as long as it is delicious.
So, as a very important public service to the early mornin’ noshers and brunch bandits of Brisbane we like to remind you, dear reader, of the classic Brisbane cafes that may have slipped from your radar.
If you are a The Urban List newbie (where have you been all our lives?) then you may have missed this article last year, where we discovered that Canvas Club—aka one of Brisbane’s best bars—also does some the best Brisbane breakfasts, too.
This Woolloongabba fave rapidly cemented itself as a serious all-rounder, pumping out many a Spanish-inspired breakfast dish with the same pizzazz that they bring to their night-time activities.
And, after hitting the ground running last year, the Canvas crew has taken a fine-tooth comb to their breakfast biz, to make sure they are bringing you the most bangin’ breakfast possible!
A new kitchen, one new coffee machine, a refreshed food menu and a schmick bar set up later, Canvas is ready to roll.
Our pick of the menu? The Banderas brekky—a delicious combo of baked egg, beef brisket chilli con carne, chorizo, home-made baked beans served with toasted ciabatta, balsamic glaze, avocado and tomato salsa—washed down with a breakfast cocktail!
Talk about brunch-worthy.
Serving up breakfast on Saturdays and Sunday’s, the crew behind Canvas are busy little bees the whole week through thanks to their scrumptious lunch menu, weekly deals, a sweet open-air cinema (in the courtyard), plus they are available for functions from Monday to Sunday.
Adding another feather to their already full cap—and because people want their trade secrets—there’s even a new cocktail making class, where you and your friends or colleagues can book a small group and learn how to make some cocktails while noshing on Canvas’ famous tapas and charcuterie.
So much from one little venue, Canvas, you have our hearts!
